  15. The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) provides a standard method for
  16. transporting multi-protocol datagrams over point-to-point links.  PPP
  17. defines an extensible Link Control Protocol (LCP) for establishing,
  18. configuring, and testing the data-link connection.  This document
  19. defines several additional LCP features which have been suggested over
  20. the past few years.  This document is the product of the
  21. Point-to-Point Protocol Extensions Working Group of the IETF.

  23. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.
  24.  
  25. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  26. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  27. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
  28. Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state and
  29. status of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
