  19. This memo describes the security mechanisms for IP version 4 (IPv4)
  20. and IP version 6 (IPv6) and the services that they provide.  Each
  21. security mechanism is specified in a separate document.  This document
  22. also describes key management requirements for systems implementing
  23. those security mechanisms.  This document is not an overall Security
  24. Architecture for the Internet and is instead focused on IP-layer
  25. security.  This RFC is the product of the IP Security Protocol Working
  26. Group of the IETF.

  28. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

  30. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  31. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  32. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
  33. Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state and
  34. status of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
