  19. This document specifies the Neighbor Discovery protocol for IP Version
  20. 6.  IPv6 nodes on the same link use Neighbor Discovery to discover
  21. each other's presence, to determine each other's link-layer addresses,
  22. to find routers and to maintain reachability information about the
  23. paths to active neighbors.  This RFC is the product of the IPNG
  24. Working Group of the IETF.

  26. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

  28. This document specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  29. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  30. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
  31. Official Protocol Standards" (STD 1) for the standardization state and
  32. status of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
