  19. This document discusses and defines a number of tests that may be used
  20. to describe the performance characteristics of a network
  21. interconnecting device.  In addition to defining the tests this
  22. document also describes specific formats for reporting the results of
  23. the tests.  Appendix A lists the tests and conditions that we believe
  24. should be included for specific cases and gives additional information
  25. about testing practices.  Appendix B is a reference listing of maximum
  26. frame rates to be used with specific frame sizes on various media and
  27. Appendix C gives some examples of frame formats to be used in testing.
  28. This RFC is the product of the Benchmarking Methodology Working Group
  29. of the IETF.
