  3. HEXPLANATION:  The file specified in the CODE= statement in the
  4. CONFIG.SYS file cannot be found. For example, TOUCOxxx.BIN. (Where
  5. xxx is the microcode level.)
  6. ACTION:  Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and be sure the file name is correct, or
  7. that it exists in the path; then, restart your system.
  8. HEXPLANATION:  You are unable to use your Touch Device
  9. because an error occurred when it attempted to communicate
  10. with the hardware.
  11. ACTION:  Do one of the following:
  12. 1. Be sure your system components are powered on.
  13. 2. If you are using a Microchannel PS/2, be sure that there is an
  14. ABIOS.SYS file in the OS2 directory.  Then, be sure the line TOUMOUSx.BIO
  15. is included in this file.  If it is not there, add a line with this
  16. file name.
  17. NOTE:  x is the ABIOS level that has been copied onto your system.
  18. 3. If after verifying the above, the error still occurs:
  19.  - Power off your system and display.
  20.  - Check to be sure that the cable is connected correctly to the
  21.    PS/2 mouse port connector at the back of the system unit.
  22.  - Restart your system.
  23. 4. If the error occurs again:
  24.  - Insert the Reference Diskette and run the diagnostics.
  25. 5. If this does not solve the problem, contact your service or sales
  26. representative.
  27. HEXPLANATION:  The DEVICE= statement in CONFIG.SYS for the
  28. Touch Device is missing the CODE= parameter.  This is required to
  29. tell the device driver where the microcode file for the Touch Device
  30. is located.
  31. ACTION:  Do the following:
  32. 1. Locate the TOUCOxxx.BIN file on your hard disk.
  33. 2. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and add:
  34.    DEVICE=PDITOU0x.SYS CODE=TOUCOxxx.BIN
  35. 3. Restart your system.
  36. NOTE:   xxx is the microcode level that is displayed when the code is being
  37. downloaded during device driver initialization.
  38. HEXPLANATION:  The filename is too long in the CODE= parameter
  39. of the DEVICE= statement in the CONFIG.SYS file.
  40. The maximum file name length is 8 characters, and must be followed with a
  41. .BIN extension.  For example, xxxxxxxx.BIN
  42. ACTION: Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and correct the file name; then,
  43. restart your system.
  44. HEXPLANATION:  The DEVICE= statement in CONFIG.SYS
  45. for the Touch Device is missing the INIT= parameter.
  46. Default values were used.
  47. ACTION:  Do the following:
  48. 1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and add:
  49.    INIT=OS2\TOUCH.INI to the DEVICE= statement.
  50. 2. Restart your system.
  51. HEXPLANATION:  The filename is too long in the INIT= parameter
  52. of the DEVICE= statement in the CONFIG.SYS file.
  53. The maximum file name length is 8 characters, followed by a 3
  54. character extension.
  55. The default filename is \OS2\TOUCH.INI.
  56. ACTION:  Do the following:
  57. 1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and add:
  58.    INIT=OS2\TOUCH.INI to the DEVICE= statement.
  59. 2. Restart your system.
  60. HEXPLANATION: The file containing the Touch Device
  61. initialization data in the INIT= parameter cannot be found.
  62. The default filename is \OS2\TOUCH.INI.
  63. ACTION:  Do the following:
  64. 1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file, and be sure that the
  65.    filename is entered correctly and that it exists
  66.    in the specified path.
  67. 2. Restart your system.
  68. HEXPLANATION:  The INIT= parameter in the Touch Device
  69. DEVICE= statement in the CONFIG.SYS file refers to the TOUCH.INI
  70. initialization file which contains a syntax error.
  71. The default values were used.
  72. ACTION:  Reconfigure Touch Device support using the Touch Control panel.
  73. HEXPLANATION:  The INIT= parameter in the Touch Device
  74. DEVICE= statement in the CONFIG.SYS file refers to the TOUCH.INI
  75. initialization file which could not be processed because the
  76. file could not be opened.

  78. ACTION:  Do the following:
  79. 1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file, and be sure that the
  80.    filename is entered correctly and that it exists
  81.    in the specified path.

  83. HEXPLANATION:  The INIT= parameter in the Touch Device
  84. DEVICE= statement in the CONFIG.SYS file refers to the TOUCH.INI
  85. initialization file which contains a line with invalid values
  86. for the parameters.
  87. ACTION:  Touch Device support using the Touch Control panel.

  89. DEVICE= statement in the CONFIG.SYS file refers to the TOUCH.INI
  90. initialization file which contains a line with a duplicate parameter.
