HOW TO RUN THE EBOOK DEMO
This demo can be run directly from this 3 1/2" disk. Here is how to do it assuming that you will be
running it from drive B:
1. Place the demo disk in drive B, load Windows, and select Run from the Program Manager File
Menu.
2. Type B:\EBOOK2 in the Run Dialog box and select OK. This will launch the Ebook demo from
your B drive. If you want to run this from your A drive, simply substitute A for B in these
instructions.
3. After the main Ebook Window appears, select Setup from the Ebook File Menu. A dialog box
will appear to prompt you to enter the paths for Pictures, Data and Index.
4. The Data and Index paths for this demo are B:\data and the Picture path is B:\pix.
After you have typed the paths into the dialog box, select the OK button and you will be ready to
use the Demo.
5. Now select Browse from the Data Card Menu and the BROWSE Dialog box will appear. From
this dialog box, you can select any of six different ways of viewing the image database. Once
you select one of the indexes, you can view the contents in the drop down combo box by
selecting the down arrow.
6. Once you have made your selection, the Data CARD will appear and you can browse through
the Data Cards by selecting either the Next or the Back buttons. Once you have found a work
that you wish to view, you can select the View button to display that picture.
7. When a picture is displayed, it may contain one to three buttons depending on the types of
information attached to that particular picture. The Data button will bring up a dialog box with
data pertaining to that picture. The Bio Button will display a Biography of the Artist, and an Info
Button will display any additional information associated with that particular work.
OTHER FEATURES
Multiple Images can be viewed at the same time, limited only to the available memory in your
system.
Images can be sized dynamically by simply grabbing any part of the frame of the picture with
your mouse and dragging the image larger or smaller. If, however, you try to size the image
larger than your screen you may change the aspect ratio.
Biography or Information text windows can be stretched to any size, and the text will
automatically wrap to fit the new size.
KNOWN PROBLEMS
This is a Beta version of software being developed for release in October. It is fairly stable, but
there is still some error handling code that has not been written, so there may be occasional
crashes.
There are additional features such as Searching and Printing that are not supported in this demo.
