  15.  The complete product consists of the following seven files:
  16.  (WSOS21.EXE) contains the installation program, (WSOS22.EXE)
  17.  contains the requester files, (WSOS23.EXE) contains the Windows
  18.  libraries and RPL files, (WSDRV1.EXE) contains the LAN drivers,
  19.  (OS2UT1.EXE) contains LOGIN, NLIST, MAP, CX, SYSCON utilities,
  20.  (OS2DC1.EXE) contains the electronic documentation in OS/2 IPF
  21.  format, and (OS2VMB.EXE) contains the VLM Boot diskette image.

  115.  INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS for the NetWare Client for OS/2 version
  116.  2.11
  117.  
  118.  This client product supports all OS/2 2.x releases made before
  119.  December 19, 1994, and replaces all previous 2.x versions of
  120.  the NetWare Client for OS/2.
  121.  
  122.  NOTE: If you have OS/2 1.3, you need to obtain the NetWare
  123.  Requester 1.3 for OS/2 instead of this product.
  124.  
  125.  The NetWare Client for OS/2 version 2.11 consists of seven
  126.  self-extracting files: WSOS21.EXE contains the installation
  127.  program WSOS22.EXE contains the requester files WSOS23.EXE
  128.  contains the Windows libraries and RPL files WSDRV1.EXE
  129.  contains the LAN drivers OS2UT1.EXE contains LOGIN, NLIST, MAP,
  130.  CX, SYSCON utilities OS2DC1.EXE contains the electronic
  131.  documentation in OS/2 IPF format OS2VMB.EXE contains the VLM
  132.  Boot diskette image
  133.  
  134.  Once these files are downloaded, there are 3 methods that can
  135.  be used to complete the installation of the NetWare Client for
  136.  OS/2 version 2.11:
  137.  
  138.  Method 1: Extract to Network Drive/Install From Network Drive
  139.  Method 2: Extract to Hard Drive/Make Diskettes/Install From
  140.            Diskettes
  141.  Method 3: Extract to Diskettes/Install From Diskettes
  142.  
  143.  Instructions for each method follow.
  144.  
  145.  *********
  146.  Method 1: Extract to Network Drive/Install From Network Drive
  147.  
  148.  NOTE:     You must have a version of the NetWare Client
  149.  software already installed on your workstation and be connected
  150.  to the network in order to use this install method.  You cannot
  151.  install to and from the same drive. Example: You cannot install
  152.  from C: to C:
  153.  
  154.  1.   To install the NetWare Client software to your hard disk,
  155.  you must have adequate disk space to allow for the client to
  156.  install. (about 4 MB)
  157.  
  158.  2.   At the network drive, create a directory called TEMP.
  159.  This directory can be deleted later.
  160.  
  161.       Example:  At the J:\ prompt, type
  162.  
  163.            MD TEMP
  164.  
  165.  3.   Extract WSOS21.EXE, WSOS22.EXE, WSOS23.EXE, WSDRV1.EXE,
  166.  OS2UT1.EXE, and OS2DC1.EXE into the TEMP directory.  The self
  167.  extracting file will automatically create the required
  168.  subdirectories.  Change to the directory where WSOS21.EXE,
  169.  WSOS22.EXE, WSOS23.EXE, WSDRV1.EXE, OS2UT1.EXE, and OS2DC1.EXE
  170.  reside.  DO NOT change to the TEMP directory.
  171.  
  172.       Example:  At the command line, type
  173.  
  174.            WSOS21 J:\TEMP\
  175.  
  176.  Do this for each self extracting file in turn.  This will
  177.  extract all the files into the TEMP subdirectory.
  178.  
  179.  4.   In an OS/2 Command Line Session, CD into the TEMP
  180.  directory and type INSTALL.  The NetWare Client for OS/2
  181.  Installation screen will appear. Follow the instructions that
  182.  appear on the screen to install the NetWare Requester on the
  183.  workstation. NOTE: Make sure and place the local disk drive
  184.  letter as the target directory.
  185.  
  186.  5.   Delete your TEMP directory if desired.
  187.

  189.  Method 2: Extract to Diskettes/Install From Diskettes
  190.  
  191.  1.   Format six 3.5" high density double-sided diskettes.
  192.  
  193.  2.   Label each diskette with the following names:
  194.       Disk 1    WSOS2_1
  195.       Disk 2    WSOS2_2
  196.       Disk 3    WSOS2_3
  197.       Disk 4    WSDRV_1
  198.       Disk 5    OS2UTIL1
  199.       Disk 6    OS2DOC_1
  200.  
  201.       Example:  At the command line, type
  202.  
  203.            Label A: WSOS2_1
  204.  
  205.  2.   Extract the .EXE files to their corresponding diskettes.
  206.  The correct directory structure will be created automatically
  207.  on the diskettes. Self-extract WSOS21.EXE onto WSOS2_1,
  208.  WSOS22.EXE onto WSOS2_2, etc.
  209.  
  210.       Example:  At the command line, type
  211.  
  212.            WSOS21 A:
  213.  
  214.  3.   After creating the six diskettes, insert the disk labeled
  215.  WSOS2_1 diskette in drive A.
  216.  
  217.  4.   Open the drive A: icon on your desktop and open the
  218.  INSTALL.EXE program. The NetWare Client for OS/2 install screen
  219.  appears.
  220.  
  221.  5.   Follow the instructions on the screen or in the manual to
  222.  complete the install.

  225.  Method 3: Extract to Hard Drive/Make Diskettes/Install From
  226.  Diskettes
  227.  
  228.  1.   Create the following subdirectories on your hard disk:
  229.  WSOS2_1, WSOS2_2, WSOS2_3, WSDRV_1, OS2UTIL_1, and OS2DOC_1.
  230.  
  231.       Example:  At the C:\ prompt, type
  232.  
  233.            MD WSOS2_1
  234.  
  235.  2.   Extract the .EXE files into their corresponding
  236.  subdirectories, the correct directory structure will be created
  237.  in each subdirectory.  WSOS21.EXE into WSOS2_1, WSOS22.EXE into
  238.  WSOS2_2, etc.
  239.  
  240.       Example:  At the command line, type
  241.  
  242.            WSOS21 C:\WSOS2_1\
  243.  
  244.  3.   Format six 3.5" high density double-sided diskettes.
  245.  
  246.  4.   Label each diskette with the following names:
  247.       Disk 1    WSOS2_1
  248.       Disk 2    WSOS2_2
  249.       Disk 3    WSOS2_3
  250.       Disk 4    WSDRV_1
  251.       Disk 5    OS2UTIL1
  252.       Disk 6    OS2DOC_1

  254.  Example:  At the command line, type
  255.  
  256.            Label A: WSOS2_1
  257.  
  258.  5.   Insert diskette labelled WSOS2_1 into drive A:.
  259.  
  260.  6.   Change directory to WSOS2_1 on your hard disk.
  261.  
  262.  7.   Type the following at the command line:
  263.  
  264.            XCOPY *.* /S /E /V A:
  265.  
  266.  8.   Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the remaining five diskettes.
  267.  Ensure that the files are copied from the correct directory to
  268.  the corresponding labelled diskettes.
  269.  
  270.  9.   After creating the six diskettes, insert WSOS2_1 diskette
  271.  in drive A.
  272.  
  273.  10.  Open the drive A: icon on your desktop and open the
  274.  INSTALL.EXE program. The NetWare Client for OS/2 install screen
  275.  appears.
  276.  
  277.  11.  Follow the instructions on the screen or in the manual to
  278.  complete the install.

  281.  SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR VLM BOOT
  282.  
  283.  OS2VMB.EXE contains a DOS boot image file and a Novell DOS 7
  284.  image utility (DISKCOPY.COM).
  285.  
  286.  IMPORTANT:  DISKCOPY.COM can only be run from an actual DOS
  287.  workstation, not from an OS/2 DOS session.
  288.  
  289.  Instructions for Creating the VLM Boot Diskette:
  290.  
  291.  1.  On the actual DOS workstation, create a subdirectory named
  292.  VLMBOOT.
  293.  
  294.  2.  Copy OS2VMB.EXE to the newly created VLMBOOT directory.
  295.  
  296.  3.  Extract OS2VMB.EXE by running it.
  297.  
  298.  4.  Insert a 1.44 MB formatted diskette into drive A:.
  299.  
  300.  5.  Change to the VLMBOOT subdirectory.
  301.  
  302.  6.  Create the image disk by typing DISKCOPY VLMBOOT.350 A:
  303.
