  10.  The file once downloaded with the binary option, needs to be
  11.  run as it is a self-extracting file.

  13.  ABSTRACT:

  15.  This files contains Virtual Loadable Modules (VLM) pre-release
  16.  v1.20 and an updated IPXODI.COM.  These updated files resolve
  17.  anomalies with the NetWare Client for DOS/MS Windows files pre-
  18.  release v1.20 that are currently in VLMUP1.EXE.  This file
  19.  contains an updated VLM.EXE, REDIR.VLM, NETX.VLM, DOSRQSTR.MSG
  20.  and IPXODI.COM.

  31.  SYMPTOM
  32.  
  33.  - The updated VLM files fix problems with critical errors (int
  34.  24).  Applications developed with Visual Basic and Quick Basic
  35.  expect the registers to be setup differently, so a change was
  36.  made to accommodate this difference.

  38.  The symptoms are as follows:  When the VLM Client generates an
  39.  interrupt 24, applications developed under Visual Basic and
  40.  Quick basic will cause the workstation to enter an infinite
  41.  loop, or hang.  Modifications have been made to alleviate this
  42.  problem.

  44.  - The updated VLM files fix problems with ErrorMode. Dos errors
  45.    were being returned instead of NetWare errors.  NetWare
  46.    errors are now returned.
  47.  
  48.  - The updated VLM files fix a problem where the error
  49.    "insufficient disk space" is displayed at the workstation
  50.    when there is disk space available.
  51.  
  52.  - The updated VLM files fix problems with temporary drives.
  53.  
  54.  - The updated IPXODI.COM corrects a problem where workstations
  55.    may randomly hang when using the LSL.COM, MLIDs (NE2000.COM),
  56.    and IPXODI.COM currently in VLMUP1.EXE

  58.  SOLUTION
  59.  
  60.  If you are experiencing any of the problems listed above
  61.  install the files provided in VLMFX1.EXE.

  76.  1. Make a backup copy of the files listed above in the
  77.  \NWCLIENT directory located on the workstation's boot disk.
  78.  
  79.  2. Copy the VLM.EXE, NETX.VLM, REDIR.VLM and IPXODI.COM files
  80.  to the \NWCLIENT directory located on the workstation's boot
  81.  disk.

  83.  3. Copy the DOSRQSTR.MSG file to the \NWCLIENT\NLS\ENGLISH
  84.  directory located on the workstation's boot disk.

  86.  4. Reboot the workstation, and load the updated drivers.
