  5.  together.  These patches provide the current patches for
  6.  NetWare SAA 1.3B.

  23.  SAA007.EXE & SAA008.EXE, together, are the current maintenance
  24.  patch for SAA 1.3B.  SAA007 and SAA008 must be used together.
  25.  Do Not Apply to COMMEXEC and NWSAA versions below 1.3.42]
  26.  Check Product Options Under "Load Install" First]  The patch is
  27.  recommended for all SAA 1.3B installations and for all SAA 1.3
  28.  installations that have installed the PTF 410 series.

  130.  Installation Instructions:
  131.  1. Install this patch ONLY IF you have NetWare for SAA 1.3B or
  132.  have installed the PTF410 series.
  133.  
  134.  2. Put SAA007.EXE and SAA008.EXE into separate empty
  135.  directories on a hard disk or network drive.Make sure these
  136.  directory paths are available to the server (s) you are
  137.  updating.  For standardizing you should create directories
  138.  saa007 and SAA008.
  139.  
  140.  3.  Unzip SAA007.EXE.

  154.  above ie, sys:\saa007 or c:\saa007

  156.  9. Select server to update.

  162.  12. Press <Esc>.  You should see NWSAA 1.3.56.

  180.  18. Reload COMMEXEC.

  182.  19. Reload the profile.

  184.  20. Copy the new STRNRTR.EXE and NOVELLRT.OVL over any copies
  185.  that may exist outside of SYS:\SYSTEM\NWSAA\AS400

  187.  21. Read SAACOPY.TXT for instructions on the use of SAACOPY.

  189.  Patch History:
  190.  
  191.  SAA007 supersedes both SAA001, SAA003, and SAA004.  SAA001
  192.  contained CSMPX.NLM dated 2-17-94, which randomized CSLIST.
  193.  Such randomization is not desirable at all sites.
  194.  
  195.  SAA001 and SAA002 superseded PTF 443, PTF 435 and PTF 438.
  196.  These files also replace the NetWire file SAACPY.EXE that
  197.  introduced the problem of restored downstream LUs being unable
  198.  to establish host sessions and PTF 431 that was the first PTF
  199.  for SAA 1.3B.
  200.  
  201.  SAA008 supersedes SAA002.
  202.  
  203.  Solution Specifics:
  204.  A.  GENERAL
  205.  1. CMTCP.NLM modified to handle multiple QELs in a single
  206.     packet.
  207.  
  208.  2. The unexpected disconnect symptom was corrected by the
  209.     patch.
  210.  
  211.  3. The "Failure to attach with Password Encryption turned on"
  212.  symptom was corrected by this patch.
  213.  
  214.  4. RUNCMD responses will now be limited to 220 characters.  If
  215.  in excess of 220 characters, will be truncated.  Single line
  216.  RUNCMD responses will be broken down into 220 character chunks.
  217.  
  218.  5. OS/2 DOS Box support for CSCON is now provided.
  219.  
  220.  6. CMTCP.NLM was modified for compatibility.
  221.  (R3SDLC.LAN was modified to correct problem 8, 9, and 10.)
  222.  
  223.  7. In a multidrop environment, the SAA server could hang if
  224.  another device kept RTS high.
  225.  
  226.  8. When CSCON was configured to keep RTS high, it was not kept
  227.     high.
  228.  
  229.  9. Spurious interrupts/ missed polls.
  230.  
  231.  10. In some environments, pressing Attention during a Logoff
  232.  could result in a Profile Unload.
  233.  
  234.  11. R3SDLC and SDLCS were modified so that DTR is not toggled
  235.  when SAA receives a disconnect command in a leased line
  236.  configuration.

  238.  12. The new SDLCS acknowledges DISCs from NCP.
  239.  
  240.  13. SDLCS.NLM was modified so that a "DLCI Error" will no
  241.  longer result when loading both a PU2.0 and a PU2.1 profile to
  242.  the same board.
  243.  
  244.  14. SDLCS.NLM was modified so that the link will no longer fail
  245.  to come up when a DISC immediately follows SNRM/UA.
  246.  
  247.  15. When changing the number of sessions (CNOS) from X to Y,
  248.  must be at 0 first before the change can be made.
  249.  
  250.  16.When running the DCA emulator using mod 5 , the session
  251.  would be terminated by the user.Subsequent users would get 4B?
  252.  on the OIA line when trying to get a new session.
  253.  
  254.  17. Many LUX fixes involving the nwsaa nlm and the lux nlm.
  255.  
  256.  18. When definite response was turned on as well as pacing,
  257.  NWSAA would return a sense code of 200A.
  258.  
  259.  19. Changes to the MPA driver to support server with more than
  260.      16 MB of ram.
  261.  
  262.      NOTE: MPA driver uses interrupt 3 and is non-shareable
  263.      , run reference setup to make sure no other device uses
  264.      interrupt 3 ]]

  266.      For Netware for OS/2 users who are running MPA board ONLY]
  267.      load MPASDLC Name=board mode=ns (fixed NRZI/NRZ mode
  268.      switching problem.

  270.  B.  SAACOPY
  271.  1. The CONFIG.SYS for the workstation from which you run
  272.  SAACOPY must contain FILES=20 (or greater).  If it does not,
  273.  you will receive the following error message when you try to
  274.  back up or restore SAA service files:
  275.  
  276.    MESSAGE
  277.  
  278.    Unable to Open File
  279.  
  280.  2. If you backed up Downstream PU configurations with files in
  281.  SAACPY.EXE and you must restore them, please contact the Sysop
  282.  on NetWire in NCONNECT Section
  283.  
  284.  3. Previous versions of SAACOPY could not copy between a 1.3
  285.  Communications Server and a 1.4 Communications Server (or vice
  286.  versa).
  287.  
  288.  4. Connections were failing to clear.  Therefore, as new
  289.  connections were made the maximum number would be reached.
  290.  
  291.  5. After a profile was copied onto a NetWare 4.01 server, an
  292.  attempt to run CSCON from the same NetWare drive would cause
  293.  the workstation to hang.
  294.  
  295.  6. Under certain circumstances, the use of SAACOPY then CSCON
  296.  could result in the DOS prompt being changed to "%p".
  297.  
  298.  C. WITH SNALINKS / LINKSNA
  299.  Even though SNALINKS was configured for auto connect, the
  300.  connection did not come back up automatically after a link was
  301.  downed.
  302.  
  303.  Now has compatibility with MPR 3.0 with fixes implemented in
  304.  this patch.
  305.  
  306.  Compatibility was also implemented with NWSAA and the new
  307.  "LINKSNA" due out in the near future.
  308.  
  309.  D. SHARED FOLDERS
  310.  Support for the "query conversation state" service verb has
  311.  been added.  Therefore, attempts to access Shared Folders will
  312.  no longer result in a drive error.
  313.  
  314.  E. Using NetView
  315.  When the new DLM.NLM is used, a server crash will no longer
  316.  result from a REQMS resulting in a DLM_GET_STATISTICS or
  317.  DLM_RESET_STATISTICS.
