Transcription: For centuries, the only way mankind could observe the heavens was through ground-based telescopes. But to see the stars, these lenses have to see through the Earth's murky atmosphere, which muddies the view. So astronomers can never get a truly sharp picture of stars or galaxies using Earth-based telescopes. The cameras on board the Hubble Space Telescope have one special advantage over the Earth-based cameras. They're orbiting about 380 miles above the Earth, outside the Earth's atmosphere.
