Transcription: At dawn, father and son stood on the ledge of one of the great windows set in the tower. Before them spread the city of Gnosis, and then the outlying fields, and then farther off, the sea. From such a great height everything below seemed tiny, sea and sky alone were profoundly vast. The wings Daedalus and Icarus wore stirred restlessly, as if Daedalus's craft had imparted a kind of life and power to them all their own.
