  8. Installation:
  9.  
  10. 1.  Copy the "life.scr" file into NT's \system32 directory.  
  11.  
  12. 2.  Go to the Control Panel and double-click the Desktop icon.  
  13.     In the Screen Saver box, select the screen saver named 
  14.     "Life".

  17. Enabling the Screen Saver During Logon (from MS Knowledge Base):
  18.  
  19. You can enable the screen saver to start during logon if no user 
  20. logs on immediately.  This is done as follows:
  21.  
  22. 1.  Start Registry Editor (REGEDT32.EXE) and select the 
  23.     HKEY_USERS hive.
  24.  
  25. 2.  Go to the following subkey:  \DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
  26.  
  27. 3.  From the parameter list, select ScreenSaveActive.
  28.  
  29. 4.  From the Edit menu, choose String.
  30.  
  31. 5.  In the String field, change the value from 0 to 1 and 
  32.     choose OK.
  33.  
  34. 6.  From the parameter list, select SCRNSAVE.EXE.
  35.  
  36. 7.  From the Edit menu, choose String.
  37.  
  38. 8.  Enter the filename of the screen saver you want to use (i.e.
  39.     "life.scr").
  40.  
  41. 9.  Similarly, edit the String field for the ScreenSaveTimeOut
  42.     parameter, and enter the time (in seconds) you want the 
  43.     screen saver to wait before activating.

  45. After you complete these changes and shut down Windows NT, the 
  46. screen saver should activate if a user fails to log on within the 
  47. time specified by ScreenSaveTimeOut.
