- ^C^1PC-DRAFT I
- ^Cfrom
- ^CNatural Software
-
- Our "Special Program" this month is PC-DRAFT I, a full-fledged drafting
- program from Natural Software.
-
- With ^1PC-DRAFT I^0, you can:
-
- -- Use built-in functions to draw shapes on the screen or to create bar, line,
- and pie graphs.
- -- Drawings may be as large as 1280 by 700 dots -- big enough to fill an 8.5 x
- 11 page when printed at 150 dots per inch resolution.
- -- "Cut and paste" objects on the screen or save object shapes to disk for use
- in other drawings.
- -- Create and save keyboard macros for later use or for animation effects.
- -- Load and create fonts.
- -- Print drawings on IBM or Epson compatible graphic dot matrix printers or HP
- Laser jet+ printers.
-
- As you might expect, ^1PC-DRAFT I^0 is a complex program -- too complex for us to
- explain in detail here. Fortunately, Natural Software has included a full set
- of instructions on disk that you print out. The file "PC-DRAFT.DOC" provides
- all the information you need to use this powerful program.
-
- We do have an important warning, however: ^1PC-DRAFT I^0 eats memory, requiring
- at least 256K of RAM. If you get "out of memory" messages when you try to load
- the program, make sure that you don't have any memory-resident utilities taking
- up needed space.
-
- A Note on Shareware
- -------------------
- As you will find out from ^1PC-DRAFT^0's printed instructions, ^1PC-DRAFT I^0 is a
- "shareware" program. Producers of shareware encourage free distribution of
- their products. This has advantages for producer and user alike: producers of
- shareware, normally small operations who can't afford heavy advertising, can
- reach many more people than they could through normal means. Users, on the
- other hand, can try software without the risk of spending money on programs that
- don't really meet their needs.
-
- Producers of shareware depend on the people who seriously use their products
- to become registered users. Only by charging a fee for registration do
- producers of shareware make money. The user benefits by registering as well;
- registered users usually get an expanded manual, the promise of technical
- support, or the latest version of the program.
-
- We encourage you to take a look at what Natural Software offers to registered
- users. If you intend to become a serious user of ^1PC-DRAFT^0, chances are good
- that what you get by registering will be well worth the price.
-
- A final note: Due to the complexity of the disk organization of PC-DRAFT, we
- have included a batch file for you to copy the program and data files. Place
- disk #2 in the A: drive, make A: the default drive, and type COPYIT {dest} where
- {dest} is the destination drive where you want to place PC-DRAFT.
