  13.           A word about user supported software:
  14.           
  15.           The user supported software concept (usually referred to as
  16.           Shareware) is an attempt to provide quality software at low cost.
  17.           The cost of offering a new product by conventional means is
  18.           staggering, and hence dissuades many independent authors and
  19.           small companies from developing and promoting their ideas.  User
  20.           supported software is an attempt to develop a new marketing
  21.           channel, where products can be introduced at low cost.
  22.           
  23.           If user supported software works, then everyone will benefit.
  24.           The user will benefit by receiving quality products at low cost,
  25.           and by being able to "test drive" software thoroughly before
  26.           purchasing it.  The author benefits by being able to enter the
  27.           commercial software arena without first needing large sources of
  28.           venture capital.
  29.           
  30.           But it can only work with your support.  We're not just talking
  31.           about NETWORK here, but all user supported software.  If you find
  32.           that you are still using a program after a couple of weeks, then
  33.           pretty obviously it is worth something to you, and you should
  34.           send in the registration fee.
  35.           
  36.           
  37.           What are the benefits of registering NETWORK?
  38.           
  39.           1)  You will receive the latest version of the software and
  40.           user's manual on diskette.
  41.           
  42.           2)  You will be notified of major updates (or fixes, if
  43.           required).
  44.           
  45.           3)  You will be assured of inexpensive upgrade offers.
  46.           
  47.           4)  You will receive notification of new products.
  48.           
  49.           5)  Your suggestions will help shape future products or releases.
  50.           
  51.           6)  You will help to keep the cost of software prices down by
  52.           supporting a distribution method which doesn't rely on expensive
  53.           advertising campaigns.

  76.                                     DISTRIBUTION

  78.           NETWORK is copyrighted.  You are granted a limited license to use
  79.           NETWORK, and to copy it and distribute it to friends or
  80.           associates, provided the following conditions are met.
  81.           
  82.           1)  No price or consideration may be charged.  However, a nominal
  83.           distribution cost may be charged for the cost of the diskettes,
  84.           shipping, and handling.  Typically this should be less than
  85.           $10.00 total.
  86.           
  87.           2)  The files and programs on the diskettes may not be modified,
  88.           deleted, nor added to.
  89.           
  90.           3)  In the case of distributions via computerized bulletin
  91.           boards, or through any other telecommunications link, the
  92.           programs should be transferred in the archived format (in one
  93.           large .ARC file).
  94.           
  95.           4)  The programs may not be sold as part of some more inclusive
  96.           package.
  97.           
  98.           5)  The programs may not be rented or leased to others.
  99.           
  100.           6)  If you are copying the disks for distribution to students in
  101.           a classroom, you must provide them with the following written
  102.           notice:

  104.           Thesediskettesaredistributed toyou throughthe courtesy of
  105.           your school and instructor, and the program author, Kenneth
  106.           Wyatt.  No royaltyorregistrationfee hasbeen paid for the
  107.           programs,which are for your evaluation as a student.  If you
  108.           wish toreceivethe latest version, as well as announcements of
  109.           updates and improvementstotheprogram, youmust firstbecomea
  110.           "registereduser".  Youmaydothis bypurchasingeach program
  111.           you plantouse.Aprintedcopy oftheorder form may be
  112.           obtainedbychoosing(6)Shareware Information, from the Main

  144.           The registration fee for single user non-commercial use is
  145.           $20.00.
  146.           
  147.           The registration fee for single user commercial use is $40.00.
  148.           
  149.           When sending your fee, please include the registration form.
  150.           This form may be printed out within the NETWORK program by
  151.           selecting (6) Shareware Information, at the Main Menu.  For
  152.           diskette registration outside the U.S., please add an additional
  153.           $5.00.  Orders must be payable to Kenneth Wyatt, and in U.S.
  154.           currency and drawn on a U.S. bank.  Thank you.

  158.                                  SITE LICENSE
  159.           
  160.           Corporate users or government agencies who wish to use NETWORK on
  161.           multiple computers may purchase a site license.  Site licenses
  162.           are granted when payment is received.  License fees vary
  163.           depending upon the number of computers on which NETWORK is to be
  164.           used, as follows:
  165.           
  166.                   2 to 9 computers ................. $150.00
  167.                   10 to 49 computers ............... $495.00
  168.                   50 (or more) computers ........... $995.00
  169.           
  170.           Single copies for commercial or government use do not require a
  171.           site license and may be purchased for $40.00.  Company or
  172.           business checks are considered as "commercial use".  The
  173.           following page is a site license agreement.  It should be signed
  174.           and included with your license payment.

  210.           The use of NETWORK in a commercial environment or government
  211.           organization is granted under the following terms:
  212.           
  213.           1)  Payment of the license fee must be made payable to Kenneth
  214.           Wyatt.  The fee is based upon the number of computers which will
  215.           be used to run NETWORK, as follows:
  216.           
  217.                   2 to 9 computers .................. $150.00
  218.                   10 to 49 computers ................ $495.00
  219.                   50 (or more) computers ............ $995.00
  220.           
  221.           2)  You may use NETWORK on the number of computers included in
  222.           the license fee.  If you have paid the fee for over 50 computers,
  223.           then you may use NETWORK on any number of computers within your
  224.           organization.
  225.           
  226.           3)  You may make copies of the program, in its original,
  227.           unmodified form, without restriction.  You may distribute these
  228.           copies of the program without restriction.
  229.           
  230.           4)  If these copies are distributed outside of your organization,
  231.           you have no obligation to control the use of these copies which
  232.           are outside of your organization.
  233.           
  234.           5)  You may make copies of the program documentation, in both its
  235.           printed form and machine readable form, without restriction.
  236.           
  237.           6)  You may use future versions of NETWORK under this license.
  238.           The latest version will be available from Kenneth Wyatt for a
  239.           service charge of $10.00.  Major revisions will be announced.
  240.           
  241.           7)  You may not modify the program or charge a fee for copying or
  242.           distributing the program.
  243.           
  244.           8)  It is your responsibility to make the necessary copies and to
  245.           deliver them to the computers on which they will be used.
