  20. Radio New Zealand International made wholesale changes to its
  21. schedule on June 11.  I assume the schedule change was to get
  22. away from Radio Moscow and Radio Station Peace & Progress that
  23. landed on 17680 kHz after the seasonal change March 25.

  25. The following was received via fax direct from Rudi Hill, Senior
  26. Producer, RNZI, at 7 p.m June 18.  I believe it differs from the
  27. information aired on Radio Japan's DX Corner on June 17th;
  28. later that night I sent a fax to NZ to request the official
  29. information...

  52. Our programmes are primarily for listeners and radio stations in
  53. the Pacific, and most of our programming is oriented to this
  54. area.  We are aware of the wider international audience
  55. listening to our broadcasts and attention to programming for
  56. this audience is now being addressed.  Our programming prior to
  57. 2200 hours UTC each day features news and features in Pacific
  58. Islands languages; from 0000 UTC emphasis is on New Zealand news
  59. and current affairs; and the transmission from 0430 is directed
  60. to Pacific Islanders but with programmes and news of interest to
  61. the wider international audience.

  63. We present a programme specially for shortwave listeners and
  64. DXers on the first and third Monday in the month at 0430 UTC.
  65. "Mailbox with Tony King" is repeated the following Friday at
  66. 1905 UTC.  The programme features letters from listeners which
  67. contain items of interest to the wider shortwave audience, radio
  68. topics from the South Pacific, and up to the minute input from
  69. Arthur Cushen.

  71. "Travel Pacific with Susan Buckland" covers items of interest to
  72. the visitor to the South Pacific and is aired on the second and
  73. fourth Monday at 0430 UTC, with a repeat the following Friday at
  74. 1905 UTC.

  78. We welcome reports and comments on our programmes.  DX reports
  79. should be accompanied by 3 IRCs and a self addressed reply label
  80. where possible.  Cassettes are NOT required.

  82. Note:  From July 1990 some changes in transmission hours are
  83. planned.  Details will be given during transmissions later in
  84. June and in Mailbox.
