- *** PMB, Personal Mail-Box Software for MS-DOS ***
-
- PMB is a full featured Terminal pgm for the MS-DOS computer which also
- includes the Personal Mail-Box feature similar to the PMB in the Kantronics
- line of TNC's. This pgm will work with any TNC as the parameter variables are
- user supplied via the TNCPARMS.SET file which will be on the disk with PMB.
-
- PMB is written for the KANTRONICS line of TNC's, however it may run on
- other TNC's. You will have to decide. The cammands PMB uses while in modes
- other than packet are: CTRL-X --- to return to the packet cmd mode.
- CTRL-T --- to xmit.
- CTRL-R --- to return to rcv.
- CTRL-E --- to return to rcv after file has been sent.
-
- PMB features, along with the mail box, split screen option, built in
- Editor for composing messages off line, full accessibility of your disk files
- right from the pgm, HF/VHF toggle, 500 line screen buffer, one key punch to
- capture to disk incoming text, automatic termination of uploads, time display
- with the push of a key, logbook filer, ability to move files around from any
- where to anywhere, rename, delete, etc. On multi-mode TNC's can change modes with
- the push of 1 key and automatically sets parameters in TNC for that mode.
- Display date and time, clear screen, turn sounds on or off, keeps a running lo
- of who uses the mail box, automatic setting of CTEXT from mode to mode, TNC
- parameters and variables are set by the user in the appropriate files that PMB
- reads from plus much more.
-
- The mail box features, kybd operation or remote operation, all messages
- are saved to disk, commands include B,C,H,I,J,K,R,T,? plus the ability to
- access PMB remotely in the event you forget to turn it on. All messages are
- buffered in memory before printing to disk, so in the event a CTRL-Z or /EX
- is not received there will be nothing printed to disk. Max msg size has been
- increased from 15 to 30k so automatic uploading of long files is permitted.
- If PMB is accessed while in the PMB ready mode it will greet the user with his
- call and sign on text. If PMB is accessed while in the terminal mode it will
- tell the user he can access the mail box by sending a CTRL-F and if he does, i
- will ask him for his call and then send the "sign on text".
-
- PMB also includes a gateway to MS-DOS, keeps a running log of who
- connects to it, can upload a file from any disk or directory plus has the
- ability to run at 300 or 1200 baud. (computer to tnc baud rate).
-
- PMB also has a built in LOGBOOK filer.
-
- PMB can be run from any drive including the hard drive.
-
- PMB is now available on this PBBS, it is in the TERMPGMS directory as PMB.AA.
- Or it may be obtained thru the mail by sending a 5 1/4" disk to the address
- listed in the INFORMATION file on this PBBS. (SEND RETURN MAILER).
-
- For the mailing address use the "I" command.
-
- PS: For more details on PMB, download from the TERMPGMS directory the file
- PMB.DOC. <D TERMPGMS\PMB.DOC>.
-
- PS: For a demonstration of PMB you might try connecting to one of the many
- fellows on 144.990 mhz. who are using it at this time.

-
- ATTENTION!!! PMB now has a big brother, PMB-BBS. This version (1.2.) is PMB
- plus a full blown PBBS that is extremely easy to run.
-
- PMB-BBS is available ONLY from N3DFD-4 PBBS. (144.990 mhz).
