- The Super Scanner
-
- Documentation
-
- The Super Scanner was written to provide folks who like listening to
- scanner frequencies with a way to exchange information about frequencies
- and enjoy listening even more! As a sysop of a BBS and a scanner user, I
- knew there was a perfect marriage of the technologies to accomplish the
- goal.
-
- All you really need to do with the super scanner is to bring it up
- from the DOS command line by typing "sc"
- and the rest is just following the menu prompts. You can add new
- frequencies to the database, scan for existing frequencies in the
- database, set colors for your screen or produce an ASCII text file of the
- current information in the database files.
-
- All you need to ensure is that the "sc.exe" and the "sc.dbf" files are
- in the same sub-directory and your on your way! Sysops running the program
- in a doorway should use a doors program like "Doorway.exe" which is
- contained in a file usually called "drwy212.zip" on the PC-Board support
- BBS, or on others that have had the file uploaded to them.
-
- If you run into problems running the software or need a demo copy of
- "doorway.exe" then call the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind BBS at
- area (617)-451-5327 (8,n,1) and leave a message for the sysop and I'll get
- back to you. You can download "drwy212.zip" from the MCB BBS as well.
-
- that's about it! You can upload frequencies you've received in the
- database by zipping the database, giving it a name and uploading it to
- other BBS systems.
-
- the next version of the Super Scanner will have an editor program for
- sysops and those currently using the program can edit with DBASE or any
- other database manager that can handle DBASE files.
-
- Enjoy the Super scanner and here's wishing you and your callers all
- the fun of great frequencies.
