- RAMail Online Help
-
- (1) Bulletin Toggle
- This option will allow you to tell RAMail whether or not you wish
- to receive new bulletins in your mail packet.
-
- (2) New Files Toggle
- This option will enable/disable the New Files Scan during packet
- creation.
-
- (C)onference Select
- This option allows you to select which message areas you wish
- RAMail to look at when selecting mail to include in your mail
- packet. In addition, you can select what type of mail to receive,
- i.e. All new mail, mail addressed only to you or All, or mail
- addressed only to you.
-
- (D)ownload Mail
- This option will begin the process of extracting messages from the
- message bases according to your selections made in the (C)onference
- Selection option. If you have flagged any files while in the (F)ile
- Areas function (see below), those files will be sent with your
- packet as well. Upon completion of the message extraction, you
- will be prompted as to whether you wish to (C)ontinue the transfer,
- (G)oodbye after the transfer (logoff) or (A)bort the transfer.
-
- (E)xpress Mail Run
- This option works in similar fashion to (D)ownload except that you
- will not be prompted with (C)ontinue, (G)oodbye, (A)bort. The packet
- will be created and then the transfer will begin immediately. Upon
- completion of the transfer, you will be logged off.
-
- (F)ile Areas
- This is a function you might not expect to see in a mail door.
- Upon selecting this option from the menu, you will be shown a list
- of all available file areas to which you have access. Choosing one
- of the areas by number will begin the display of the list of
- files for that area. At the end of each screenful, you will see a
- prompt "More (Y/n), (F)lag, (U)nflag". By pressing [ENTER] or [Y]
- at this prompt, the listing will continue with the next screenful
- files. If you press [F], you will be prompted to enter the name of
- the file you wish to flag for download with your mail packet. You
- may only flag files one at a time, i.e. you can't enter more than
- one file name at the "Enter File Name to Flag" prompt. If you have
- previously flagged files that you wish to unflag, press [U] and
- enter the file name or enter (*) to unflag all files.
-
- (G)oodbye (Logoff)
- This option will log you off of the BBS.
-
- (H)elp
- This option will display this help file.
-
- (L)ist New Mail
- This option will perform a message scan on all selected message areas
- displaying the number of messages above your last read marker.
-
- (M)odify Last Read Pointer
- RemoteAccess maintains a pointer in your user record that contains
- the number of the highest message you have read. RAMail accesses
- this pointer when exporting messages so it will only export messages
- above the last one you have read. If for some reason you wish to
- change this pointer, either forward to skip mail or backward to
- reprocess older mail, you may use this function.
-
- (N)ew Files
- This option will display all new files that have been posted since
- your last call to the BBS.
-
- (P)age Sysop
- This option will signal the sysop that you wish to chat with him.
- If he is available, he will chat with you.
-
- (Q)uit to BBS
- This option will exit the RAMail door and return you to the BBS.
-
- (S)ystem Info
- This option will display information about the BBS, i.e. Message
- Statistics and Last Caller information.
-
- (T)ransfer Protocol
- This option will allow you to select your default transfer
- protocol that will be used in all packet transfers. Your choices are
- Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem and Ymodem-G.
-
- (U)pload Replies
- This option will allow you to upload replies that you have written
- offline with your offline reader. The replies will be inserted
- into the BBS message bases. You can configure your conference choices
- offline by entering messages addressed to RAMAIL. In the Subject
- field, you would enter one of the following to specify what action
- RAMail should take:
-
- ADD - Adds the conference and selects all mail
- ADD A - Adds the conference and selects all mail
- ADD YA - Adds the conference and selects mail addressed to you
- and mail addressed to ALL
- ADD Y - Adds the conference and selects mail addressed to you only
- DROP - Removes the conference
-
- Any message text entered in a configuration message is disregarded.
