- CARRIER LOST REPLACER (CLR) V1.1 (c) 1994 by Frank Q./Q-TiP PCBoard-Development
- ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Table of contents:
-
- (1) - INTRO
- (2) - HOW TO SET UP CLR
- (3) - CHANGES FROM V1.0 TO V1.1
-
- ─ (1) INTRODUCTION ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
-
- If a carrier gets lost while uploading and the file has
- got no file description, PCBoard uses PCBTEXT record #215
- as a file description. The default is 'Carrier lost ...'.
- You may not like this string and change it maybe to
- 'Please e-mail description to Sysop' or 'Use DES to enter
- description'. That works, but PCBoard now uses the
- customized 'Carrier lost'-string at any other 'Carrier
- lost'-situation, for example in multinode-chat:
-
- 06-22-94 11:51 1 TALION : Talion: PLEASE E-MAIL DESCRIPTION...
- 06-22-94 11:51 1 TALION : Talion has left this channel.
-
- Normally it should be:
-
- 06-22-94 11:51 1 TALION : Talion: Carrier lost ...
- 06-22-94 11:51 1 TALION : Talion has left this channel.
-
- And also in the callers logfile:
-
- Node CHAT entered at 11:48
- Node CHAT ended at 11:51
- PLEASE E-MAIL DESCRIPTION TO SYSOP!
- Minutes Used: 12
- 06-22-94 (11:51) (1) TALION Off Abnormally
- **************************************************************
-
- You see the problem. Well, it is not really a 'problem'
- but it does not look nice.
-
- With CLR you can now have the normal 'Carrier lost ...'
- string for normal purpose, but a different in your
- file-directories.
-
- You simply run CLR in your PCBTEST.BAT and have you own
- 'Carrier lost ...' string... nice, eh? ;-)
-
-
- ─ (2) HOW TO SET CLR ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
-
- First edit the Q-CLR.CNF file, put the 'Carrier lost ...'
- string you find in PCBTEXT record #215 into line 1 and
- the string you want to have in you file-directories in
- line 2 and that is it.
-
- Example:
- [Q-CLR.CNF]
- Carrier lost ...
- @X1FPLEASE E-MAIL DESCRIPTION TO SYSOP
- ════[ Q-CLR V1.1 CONFIGURATION FILE ]═══════════════════════════════════
- 1: Original carrier lost string (PCBTEXT record #215)
- 2: String to replace it in case of a carrier lost
-
- If now someone uploads a file without file description
- and looses his carrier you will find "PLEASE E-MAIL
- DESCRIPTION TO SYSOP" in your dirfiles instead of
- "Carrier lost ...".
-
- Then put CLR into your PCBTEST.BAT with the following
- parameters:
- 1 - path+name to config-file
- 2 - path+name of description file to be tested, this
- is normally parameter %3 given from PCBoard to
- PCBTEST.BAT
-
- Example:
- [PCBTEST.BAT]
- @echo off
- e:\pcb\doors\clr\q-clr.exe e:\pcb\doors\clr\q-clr.cnf %3
- (...)
-
- NOTE: If you use different languages for 'Carrier
- lost ...' like 'Carrier verloren ...' (in German)
- you have to use just one 'Carrier lost ...' string
- OR more cnf-files for each language...
- Example:
- [PCBTEST.BAT]
- @echo off
- e:\pcb\doors\clr\q-clr.exe e:\pcb\doors\clr\english.cnf %3
- e:\pcb\doors\clr\q-clr.exe e:\pcb\doors\clr\german.cnf %3
- e:\pcb\doors\clr\q-clr.exe e:\pcb\doors\clr\french.cnf %3
- (...)
-
- That's it. Now it should work ;-)
-
- ─ (3) CHANGES FROM V1.0 TO V1.1 ───────────────────────────────────────────────
-
- I added two additional and optional parameters:
-
- /MONO - if you use a hercules or other monochrome video
- device you won't see CLRs messages. With the
- /MONO parameter CLR will use the current
- color-attribute.
-
- /SUP - if you don't want to see CLRs messages use this
- parameter, it disables all screen output.
-
- Have Fun with it...
