- Welcome to the DEMO version of Pro-Board V3.0! This is a
- fully functional program with the exception that it cannot
- SAVE a data file. However, you can read existing data files
- and create your own PCBs to familiarize yourself with the ease
- and power we have included in Pro-Board.
-
- At most screens, the <Alt><Help> Hot Key combo will display
- a text file describing the functions and options for this menu.
- The IFKs are disabled while Help is active. Remember to enter
- `Q'<CR> to return to normal operation.
-
- The TUTORIAL PCBs are from the manual. Use them to play with
- automatic placement, automatic routing, and the various other
- features. The Tutorial section in the manual covers the most
- used features of Pro-Board V3.
-
- A fully functional version of Pro-Lib has been included on the
- second disk, along with some sample PCBs for experimentation
- and examples of several Library Parts.
-
- Pro-Lib creates Library Parts for those Devices which cannot be
- described as a DIP, SIP, or 2-Pin device (such as standard
- through-hole ICs, resistor packs, and capacitors and resistors).
- The power and ease of use of Pro-Lib allows easy creation of PGA
- and PLCC devices, as well as simpler SMT parts and non-standard
- through-hole devices such as TO-3 or TO-220 transistors, ZIP memory
- packages, custom headers and connectors, etc.
-
- Included with Pro-Board, Pro-Plot is a utility to generate hard
- copy. It can print a PCB data file to a dot matrix printer
- for a rough draft; to an HPGL or non-HPGL plotter for more
- finished work; and to Gerber Photo Plotters for the highest
- quality.
-
- In addition, Prolific provides Pro-Net to perform Schematic Capture,
- and Pro-Drill to generate True-Drill or Excellon format Drill Files
- to save you even more money when you are readying your PCBs for
- production.
-
-
- NOTE ON INSTALLATION
-
- The script "Install_DEMO_HD" will install these two disks to a hard
- disk. The script file will instruct you on its use.
-
- Pro-Board requires the Diamond 12 and 20 point fonts to be in
- Fonts:. These are standard fonts, so if you have never
- modified the contents of Fonts:, you will not have a problem.
-
- The req.library must be in LIBS:. The installation procedure will
- attempt to copy it from the demo disk, but if the volume to which
- LIBS: is assigned is Write Protected, it will fail.
