  2.                              New Features
  3.                        -------------------------

  5. The following new features have been added to CD-Runner for Windows 2.0:
  6.  
  7. * CD PLAYER - if a CD is placed into the CD-ROM drive, it is automatically
  8.   identified and read; a new CD Player faceplate (much like the actual
  9.   faceplate of many new audio CD players) will be displayed. The audio CD
  10.   may also be setup into the library with it's Title, Artist, Songs, and 
  11.   Liner Notes; these will be displayed as the CD is run.

  13.   All of the typical CD player functions are supported including 
  14.   programming capabilities, repeat mode, time functions, etc.. Other 
  15.   additions not normally found on a CD player include a song status bar 
  16.   showing % of song completion (click on this bar with the mouse to directly
  17.   move to the associated position in the song), and a 2-icon "minimize" 
  18.   option which allows the CD to play without the CD player screen displayed
  19.   (the icons will display the time, track #, and song).

  21.   NOTE: to use the CD player, you must have an "MCI CD player" driver loaded.
  22.   To load the driver (normally supplied with Windows), use the Windows Control
  23.   Panel, and select the "Drivers" & "Add" options; select the "[MCI] CD Audio"
  24.   driver from the list. (the driver file is named "MCICDA.DRV" and is usually
  25.   found in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory).

  27. * MULTI-DISK CD-ROM CHANGER - Supports CD-ROM changers (with multiple CD-ROM
  28.   capability); use the CD-Runner setup section to enter the CD-ROM drive
  29.   letters, and when in the CD-ROM section of CD-Runner simply click on the
  30.   "Search" option to run applications from any of the CD-ROM drives. The 
  31.   current CD-ROM drive letter will also be displayed on the CD-ROM runner
  32.   screen.

  34. * GREATLY EXPANDED CD-ROM LIBRARY FEATURES - includes greatly expanded icon
  35.   support to read icons from ICO, EXE, DLL, WMF, and ICL files. Also includes
  36.   improved screens and options.

  38. * AUTOMATIC CD/CD-ROM RECOGNITION - CD-Runner is designed to automatically
  39.   recognize if a CD or CD-ROM is loaded into the CD-ROM drive, and display
  40.   the CD player or CD-ROM runner screen as appropriate.

  42. * SYSTEM INFORMATION - in the about section, a new System Info option has
  43.   been added to show detailed hardware / software information including
  44.   free system resources.

  46. * SMALL FONT OPTION - in the general setup section, a new small font option
  47.   has been added to adjust the graphics & text spacing; usually Windows
  48.   resolutions of 640x480 (VGA) & 600x800 (Super-VGA) use the small font 
  49.   option, while resolutions of 1024x768 or higher use the large font option
  50.   (which is the default CD-Runner mode).
