- CAVERN.EXE (TDC) Ver 2.001
-
- This version of the game replaces all previous versions.
- (It was redesigned with more sprites & a bug with the PC's
- speaker removed.)
-
- This is a Platform game based on the once very poplar 'BOULDER DASH'
- type of game.
-
- Program requirements: VGA graphics (MCGA 320*200*256 colours)
- DOS 3.01 and up
- 8086 CPU & up
- 512k Ram minimum
-
- The game was designed around a CPU running at 20MHz.
- If you find the game runs to fast, then try using a slower speed.
- E.G. Use the command DEVICE SPEED 20 and then run the game.
-
-
- Scenario:
-
- It is the mid 21st century, and man has begun to explore the outer
- planets of the solar system.
-
- Neptunes moon Triton is the place of much interest, especially it's
- 'Tritonian' crystals. These crystals, found by a mining company
- whilst excavating a large cavern on Triton, are extremely rare.
- (The company went into liquidation, and no one bothered to rescue
- its employees who still mine there.)
-
- A new form of hyper space travel has been invented, and only the
- Tritonian cystals have the properties needed for its stellar drive.
-
- In space, there is no law, except might, and many have died 'accidently'
- trying to obtain these crystals - Triton itself, is no warm paradise,
- it is close to absolute zero, and a warm human body would burn into
- Tritons crust before freezing solid - Indeed the gigantic 'geysers'
- on Triton consist of mainly liquid nitrogen.
-
- You are a geologist, mining for crystals on Triton.
- Your contract calls for you to mine 10 crystals on each of 32 levels.
- You are provided with a space suit, and a weapon that shoots fireballs
-
- A word of warning - Don't linger on any level to long - The cavern
- soil will turn into nasty fungi.
