-
- QUICK START:
-
- After you have decompressed the DBQUEST.ZIP file into a suitable directory
- you are ready to play!
-
- This software SHOULD run under @ 400K, leaving plenty of space for your TSRs,
- device drivers, etc. BUT, it runs best with a large amount of RAM free. I
- usually run this game with at least 500-600k free. If you notice that the
- sound drops out unexpectedly, you may need to free more conventional RAM.
-
- NOTE: This game is only compatible with genuine a genuine Creative Labs
- Sound Blaster card. Compatible cards may not work correctly, and the
- pc speaker is not supported. If you do not want sound, or sound does
- not work on your machine, then delete the dcsounds.vfl file.
- Also note that sbfmdrv.com IS NOT required to play DBQuest or to
- hear the sound effects, since no FM synthesis music was integrated
- into the game.
-
-
- To play the game, type the following at the DOS prompt:
-
- c:\> dbquest
-
- Use the arrow keys for movement.
-
- Use 'T' to talk to another character. During conversation, if a word
- appears in CAPITAL letters, then it is a keyword, and can be typed for
- further information.
-
- If you do an inventory, or want to drop something and your inventory
- is more than one screen long, pgup & pgdn can be used to scroll your items up
- or down.
-
- All other commands can be referenced by pushing F1 during play.
- In the F1 help menu, pgdn & pgup can be used to scroll the help menu.
