  9.                The purpose of NUKE (and NUKE/V) is to erase files from
  10.           your disks  completely, including the directory entry.  This
  11.           will insure  that nosey  persons are  not able  to ressurect
  12.           said files  later  with  such  programs  as  Peter  Norton's
  13.           UnErase.   For sensitive  information, this  is an  absolute
  14.           necessity, and  I believe  these  two  programs  provide  an
  15.           optimal solution.

  27.                NUKE/V differs  from NUKE in that it defaults to Verify
  28.           mode instead  of Automatic  mode.   For extra  security, you
  29.           might want  to rename  NUKEV.COM to  NUKE.COM on  your  work
  30.           disk.  This may avoid many inadvertant disasters.  Remember,
  31.           once a file is NUKEd, it's gone forever!

  33.                You may  distribute NUKE  and NUKE/V freely, so long as
  34.           you distribute  them in  the original  .ARC file that I have
  35.           provided.   DO NOT  REARCHIVE ANY OF THESE FILES!  This will
  36.           insure that  both NUKE  and NUKE/V  are distributed together
  37.           and with their documentation, and will make it easier for me
  38.           to watch for buggy versions.
  39.           
  40.                If you like and use either or both of these programs, I
  41.           request a  registration fee  of $25,  which covers both NUKE

  61.           P.S. Remember that  some  programs  create  temporary  files
  62.                containing the  data you  are working  with.   When you
  63.                exit  these   programs,  the  files  are  automatically
  64.

  70.                erased.   Though this  is a  convenience, it  may leave
  71.                another path  for a sneaky intruder to reconstruct your
  72.                data.   For this  reason, I  have written DEL22.  DEL22
  73.                will catch  programs like  this, and automatically NUKE
  74.                the above  mentioned temporary  files.   If security is
  75.                important, you  might want  to try  out DEL22.   If you
  76.                can't find  it on  your local  bulletin boards, send $4
  77.                for an  unregistered copy,  or $25 for a pre-registered
  78.                copy.   Registered users of NUKE may register DEL22 for
  79.                only $15, or vice versa.
