  1.                                INTRODUCTION

  3. Welcome to D'SCOPE, user supported software, which turns an ordinary IBM PC
  4. (with two IBM compatable ASYNC COM ports, a color or monohcrome adapter,
  5. and 128k) into a DATA SCOPE (or LINE MONITOR).
  6.  
  7. A data scope provides a window on the data being transfered over a data
  8. communications line.  D'SCOPE provides a way to look at the data flowing
  9. back and forth over an RS-232 line.  This can be useful both in the
  10. development of communications software and in the day-to-day maintenance of
  11. existing communication links.
  12.  
  13. D'SCOPE supports a range of baud rates upto 19,200, seven or eight data
  14. bits, and one or two stop bits.
  15.  
  16. To start, type D'SCOPE <enter> to the DOS prompt (while on a disk, and in a
  17. sub-directory containing D'SCOPE.COM)
  18.  
  19. Menus and help screens will lead you from there.
