- Just got passed word that LEADING TECHNOLOGIES is working on a sound
- board called the AUDIOWARE BOARD. This sound board was featured in
- a Nov/Dec issue of InfoWorld magazine.
-
- I called their 800 phone number and was told that the board was still
- in production and to check back in several weeks. I did manage to
- find out that the board can do speech, music and will be MIDI compatible
- and also Soundblaster compatible. It is supposed to be 16-bit. And
- get this he said that the price (retail) would be about $199.
-
- I am following up on this company and will be bringing more details as
- they become available. If anybody else knows anything about this board
- please e-mail me.

- Many of you have been asking about how to play files on a SUN or SPARC
- station. I have obtained several of these conversion programs and
- files but I have not been able to test them. However I have been
- informed by John Christianson that there is a site at 'ucsd.edu'
- that does have files in the 'sparcaudio' and the 'midi' directories
- that you can experiment with.

-
- There have recently been a lot of new progams out to play sound
