  2. Subject: The public nature of garbo.uwasa.fi questions and answers

  4. I feel it advisable to inform the gentle garbo.uwasa.fi users of the
  5. following matter concerning privacy / publicity.  I get very much
  6. email concerning garbo.uwasa.fi files and problems and UseNet news. 
  7. As an FTP archive site moderator I have to answer countless
  8. questions and views from the users practically every day.  Quite
  9. often these questions or views are of general interest or
  10. applicability, and I often make selected questions and my answers
  11. public in the /pc/pd2/post*.txt information files, and sometimes
  12. even on the UseNet news.  The same goes for useful user feedback on
  13. the programs on garbo.

  15. This means that unless clearly stated otherwise by the sender (at
  16. the very beginning of the message, please), or very obvious from the
  17. context or the contents, I consider all email, all text in the
  18. upload announcements, and all file uploads publicly available and
  19. publicly publishable material. 
  20.  
  21. The reason is that we get so much uploads, announcements, questions
  22. and views, that if we conversed back and forth with each and
  23. everyone about their material and messages, we would be totally
  24. swamped because we already are stretched as we are.  I have to
  25. organize matters in a rational way to be able to perform the
  26. moderator's functions, and making public the interesting questions
  27. from users and the answers to their queries is part of this.
