- DISKCOMP
-
- DISKCOMP is an external command that compares two entire diskettes. A virtual
- disk defined to have exactly the same number of sectors as the diskette can
- be used as one of the diskettes.
-
- DISKCOMP [d1:] [d2:] [/1] [/8]
-
- \___/ \___/
- \source/ \target
-
- /1 tells DISKCOMP to compare only a single side (the first) of the two
- diskettes in a high-capacity or double-sided 5 ¼" drive.
-
- /8 tells DISKCOMP to compare only the first 8 sectors of each track on the
- two diskettes, even though they may have 9 or 15 sectors. Sectors per
- track are described in the NEW-TERMS DISKETTE topic.
-
- DISKCOMP won't work with disks on another computer in a network. DISKCOMP
- should not be used with ASSIGNed, JOINed, or SUBSTed disk names.
