  1. Beware that GNU tar scripts have not been updated in a long while.
  2. The ChangeLog has been lost.  The Makefile does not install them.
  3. But we intend to try reinstating them in some future GNU tar release.
  4. Consider this directory is provided as indicative for the time being.
