  1. These are some notes to be turned into a real guide file for 
  2. the Geek Gadgets CD.
  3. We are working on a better packaging system based on RPM.
  4. An X-Windows port is in progress and nearly completed.  It may or may not make
  5. it onto the first Geek Gadgets CD.
  6. Work on full support for AmigaOS "hunk format" is in progress.  When
  7. it is complete, the standard object file format for gcc will be
  8. switched from "a.out" to hunk.  The tools will continue to accept
  9. a.out format objects and libraries though, for backwards
  10. compatibility.  Once hunk format is supported, support for standard
  11. Amiga C extensions like "chip" will be easy to implement.  Most of the
  12. pieces are already in place.
  13. Geek Gadgets will be a quarterly release, with intermediate
  14. development snapshot releases via ftp from ftp.ninemoons.com or one of
  15. it's mirrors.  Subscriptions are available at reduced cost.  Sales of
  16. the Geek Gadgets CD help to support further development and a large
  17. portion of the proceeds are made available as incentives for
  18. developers to work on specific projects.
