  11.        The structure for _C_l_i_e_n_t_M_e_s_s_a_g_e events contains:

  28.        When you receive this event, the structure members are set
  29.        as follows.

  31.        The type member is set to the event type constant name
  32.        that uniquely identifies it.  For example, when the X
  33.        server reports a _G_r_a_p_h_i_c_s_E_x_p_o_s_e event to a client applica-
  34.        tion, it sends an _X_G_r_a_p_h_i_c_s_E_x_p_o_s_e_E_v_e_n_t structure with the
  35.        type member set to _G_r_a_p_h_i_c_s_E_x_p_o_s_e.  The display member is
  36.        set to a pointer to the display the event was read on.
  37.        The send_event member is set to _T_r_u_e if the event came
  38.        from a _S_e_n_d_E_v_e_n_t protocol request.  The serial member is
  39.        set from the serial number reported in the protocol but
  40.        expanded from the 16-bit least-significant bits to a full
  41.        32-bit value.  The window member is set to the window that
  42.        is most useful to toolkit dispatchers.

  44.        The message_type member is set to an atom that indicates
  45.        how the data should be interpreted by the receiving
  46.        client.    The format member is set to 8, 16, or 32 and
  47.        specifies whether the data should be viewed as a list of
  48.        bytes, shorts, or longs.     The data member is a union that
  49.        contains the members b, s, and l.  The b, s, and l members
  50.        represent data of twenty 8-bit values, ten 16-bit values,
  51.        and five 32-bit values.    Particular message types might
  52.        not make use of all these values.  The X server places no
  53.        interpretation on the values in the window, message_type,
  54.        or data members.
