- THE ASCII TABLE DIALOG is invoked from the Options menu
- or by pressing ⇧^A. It gives an overview of the Atari
- ASCII character set.

- CLICK ON A CHARACTER to insert it into a text.

- CHOOSE A DIFFERENT TEXT using the pull down menu below
- the character set.

- ALTERNATIVE METHODS to get characters not available on
- the keyboard are:

- 1. While working in a text window, hold down the
- ALTERNATE key, type a decimal ASCII code on the
- numerical keypad, and release alternate. The
- character corresponding to the ASCII code is
- inserted into the text.

- ** This works for all versions of the Operating
- System.

- ** The ASCII code of the character under the
- mouse pointer is displayed in the ASCII Table
- dialog.

- 2. (dead keys) Press control plus a special code for
- an accent, then type a letter. If it is
- available, the letter and the accent will be
- combined. For a table of these codes see the
- printed manual.
