  4. About the scheme
  5. ----------------
  6. The supported Shareware scheme was started by Joe Connor in 1993 to 
  7. encourage authors to produce and support English language versions of 
  8. their software AND to encourage UK users to register 'foreign' software. 
  9. Recently the scheme was re-launched as InterActive. With currently over 
  10. 1550 registrations the scheme has established the proven benefits of local 
  11. support, which include:
  12.  
  13. - Key to remove features reserved for registered users available
  14. - Local telephone, post and Email support
  15. - Free update service
  16. - No hassle handling foreign currency
  17. - Labelled Master disk and registration letter
  18. - ST-Guide on-line hypertext help (some software)
  19. - Other software (dependent on disk space)
  20.  
  21. Registration fees are set to cover the currency handling, stationary, 
  22. media and postage costs incurred in mailing out master disks and providing 
  23. support.
  24. Although primarily a UK support scheme everyone is welcome to register via 
  25. InterActive as an alternative to registering directly with the author/s.

  79. How to register from inside the UK
  80. ----------------------------------
  81. 1) Use the included ORDER_FM.TXT to select the required software
  82. 2) Make sure your name and address is included and *legible*!
  83. 3) Make cheques/POs payable to InterActive for the total amount
  84. 4) Send the completed order form and payment to InterActive
  85.  
  86. Additionally from outside the UK
  87. --------------------------------
  88. - Add £1 to your order total to cover postage
  89. - Make certain payment is *in Sterling* drawn on a *UK* bank address
  90.   The following methods are known to work:
  91.   -Bank draft/cheque
  92.   -Eurocheque
  93.   -International Post Office cheque payable *in Sterling*
  94.   -Cash! Sterling, Dollars and DMs are fine -but at your own risk!

  96. Country specific information
  97. ----------------------------
  98. Canada:    Canadian Post Office money orders made out in *Sterling* are 
  99.            perfect and inexpensive!
  100. Australia: Thanks for all the pretty plastic Aussie dollars guys -but I'd 
  101. (N/Z)      rather have Sterling! Visit your Post Office and get a money 
  102.            order made out in *Sterling*.
  103. France:    For some reason I'm getting a number of local cheques (i.e. 
  104.            written in Sterling but drawn on a french bank address.
  105.            I can accept these but they cost £5 to negoiate so you must add 
  106.            an extra £5 to your order total.
  107. Europe:    In general Post Office money orders or Eurocheques are the best 
  108.            way to pay.
  109. USA:       What a nightmare! Can I suggest a day trip to a Canadian post 
  110.            office? I've seen everything from Amex travellers cheques (add 
  111.            £5 to order total), local cheques (no can do), cash (fine -but 
  112.            at your own risk). An International money order (add £5 to 
  113.            order total) made out in Sterling drawn on a UK banking address 
  114.            is currently the best solution.

  130. postage (or IRC) and an unlabelled double sided floppy disk. Please state 
  131. clearly:

  138. Due to the number of people taking advantage of the service I can't always 
  139. reply as quickly as I'd like to. Often I'm waiting for a new version or 
  140. simply too busy earning a living so please be patient!

  145. about the latest products with links to other Atari related sites.

  165. Other Bulletin boards and ftp sites are allowed to carry the on-line 
  166. archives but because minor updates to the English language version are 
  167. sometimes made without changing the version number hensa and 42BBS are the 
  168. places to go to ensure you have the very latest versions!
