  3. ##### Installation #####

  5. You can choose to use the automatic setup program or do a manual install.
  6.  
  7. ** Automatic Setup **
  8. You can install vern with the setup program provided, in which case all files are
  9. automatically installed to \Program Files\One Guy Coding on the boot drive.
  10. This also creates some links in the Program menu under One Guy Coding.  To
  11. uninstall Vern, use Control Panel and run Add/Remove Programs.  You can change
  12. the install directory in vernnt.inf or vern95.inf (Win95/8), see the instructions at
  13. the top of the appropriate file.

  15. NOTE: The vern95.inf will not install from a directory path that contains
  16.       any spaces or long file or path names.
  17.  
  18. ** Manual **
  19. Create a folder (eg., C:\Program Files\One Guy Coding) and unzip vern2.exe
  20. into that directory.  Run vern.exe.
  21.  
  22. To have vern start automatically at startup, right click on the Vern selector and 
  23. turn the "Startup" option on.  This option is a toggle so disabling the feature 
  24. requires turning this feature off.

  26. ** Help file **
  27.  
  28. The HtmlHelp file vern2.chm has been eliminated and has been replaced by
  29. the traditional help file Vern2.hlp.  You can also get dialog box help
  30. by clicking the little ? icon on the caption bar and clicking the control
  31. of interest.
