Everyone,

For those of you that don't know by now, RNS (an mp3 release group) got its
hands on a promo of The Altogether, and ripped it.  If someone has an FTP server
and wants to serve the tracks I can up the mp3s...just let me know where.

By the way....If anyone actually owns the promo and wants to sell it....I WANT
IT!!

I didn't want to listen to it until I had the CD in my hands but here I am
downloading it from Napster.  I will allow myself to listen to the promo
version of Tootled, Tension, and Last Thing because I had heard those
already.  I highly doubt I can resist listening to the whole thing until
early May (that's when I would get it since I doubt they will release it in
the US on time).. DOH!

Does anyone else have this dilemma?  Should I wait for the cd itself?
What's wrong with me!!!

An MP3 release group?  Ha!  How much talent does it take to get a CD,
run a ripper/encoder on it, and put it out on Napster?  I better start
one of those right now, cuz I've been doing that for years.

Go for it! Just promise everyone that you'll buy
a legit when it gets here. You KNOW you will, because you've GOT
to have the legit artwork in your collection :) {Is there a napster for

Anyway, this will be the only way to make the
industry wake up. {Sorry London, but it's true!}
I rarely pay full/new prices anyway. It's called 'used cds"
and there are stores everywhere. Why doesn't RIAA go after them?
They need to lower the prices. !PERIOD!

Fucking Metallica is so big BECAUSE fans shared their stuff
before buying it. The underground swap is FREE advertising.
The Recording Industry should sit back and chill out. They are
getting a DEAL! The RIAA are the ones who should be paying up!

Napster and Word-of-Mouth has made more tycoons than paupers.
Musicians play music either way, in my experience. There are
too many poor ones WITH contracts.

If I like it I'll buy it {eventually}

What are the UK rules?

The only ones I know about are:

1. All singles issues MUST be, at minimum, 0.5 songs long, maximum of 3.

2. No single can have any affiliation with Sinn Fenn or that angry bald girl.

3. When eaten, the single must not taste better than the average shepards'
pie.

4. The single can contain no images of any women who look like they might
be from California {i.e. No Sluts!} v. 2.1 adds women who look like they
might be from Florida or go to either place a lot on break.

5. Must pass Buckingham Artistic Readiness Forum {B.A.R.F} test,
where all content, aural or visual, can not make her majesty loose
her royal cookies. There were never any official UK singles for any
Wierd Al Yankovic albums.

Essentially, no more than 4 songs (or is it 3 now?), not lasting more than
20 minutes... Oh, but nowadays, it seems to be common-place to include an
MPEG (or Quicktime) video of the single as well (cheers!).

Also, there are to be no more than 3 formats of a single, with most opting
for 2xCD singles and one cassingle...

...Whereas in the US, they are allowed to put all songs off both CD singles
onto one... <sigh>

(I'm probably wrong in some of the facts above - this is just from memory...

Tell me about it... Wish "Amish Paradise" came out on CD single (especially
with that video)... Was "forced" to download the video from a newsgroup
fairly recently (together with "Fat"/"Eat It"/"Bedrock Anthem"/"Gump"/etc)!!

BTW, is there a Weird Al DVD out in the States? (Sorry for the OT question)

I like a lot of other just could not resist temptation.... and I listened to
the new cd.... well I can finally say proof positive what I had expected to
for the past few months about the new Orbital CD..... ugh, this is a
terrible album =\

I prefer Sniv to this by far...... and I really don't care for Sniv much at
all....  this reminds me of Metallica's Load in terms of super dissapointing
albums.... mind you I like a few tracks (Meltdown, Last Thing), but on the
whole this is just not the type of Orbital I'd even have remotely
expected..... it's inferior in every way to any of the other albums I've
heard...... and for the first time (and much to my chagrin) I can honestly
say I have no intention of buying this CD...... and since I have so many of
their CD's/singles/ep's...... that's as good as any indicator as to how much
I dislike this album. But I am only one person and my opinion matters little
in the grand scheme of things, but I'm sure I will have a lot of people
disagreeing with me.

oh well, at least the new Underworld is coming sometime this year. Maybe
FSOL will come out of hiding and release a new CD sometime soon here too.
Until then I can just sit here and listen to In-Sides and the Brown Album to
remember the good Orbital album releases and long for those days again.

It is like a book, I don't want to read just enough of one chapter to make
me want to read it, especially if it is by my fav. author.  Same with
Orbital, I know I will love it, but it is just a tease if I can't hear the
whole thing.  I would rather wait.

The reason why i wait is because its always been like a spiritual
incident...going to the store after trying incredibly hard to find the new
cd by someone i like and ive been waiting for, and heard so much about.
then you go home, put it in the cd player, and just sit back...each new
sound is totally fresh, and whe you hear something described in a review or
something you get all excited and go 'oooh! thats waht they meant!!'.
its just the whole experience of buying a new cd that i think is cool and i
remember almost every 'new' cd ive waited for vividly.

Hey all!......It's me Don Thompson....I've been lurking on here for
awhile now but I just wanted to come on and say of few things.
First off I wanna say hello to Mehul, Brenden, and Brandon who I
had the pleasure of seeing and meeting Orbital live with.
Also, I'm listening to Funny Break (One Is Enough) and that's the
only track I'm gonna listen to before I buy the album.....it's the
single and I'll prolly hear it anyways....plus I gotta get at least a
TASTE of new Orbital.
Finally, I am interested in trading Orbital CD bootlegs with anyone
who is interested. I wanna get a bigger collection of live shows...so
e-mail me at [e-mail] and we can work somethin out
since I just got my burner fixed. OhYEAH! I've just had the pleasure
of buying the Queen Latifah - Come Into My House 12" with the
Orbital Dub on it.....just to brag a bit :-)
