Got to stand up for Chicane.  He/she/they do some excellent prog house,
e.g., their brilliant, haunting remix of Billy Ray Martin's "Honey"
could make even a hard heart cry.  Ditto for Salt Water.  Betcha the
Hartnolls like them, too.

Chicane is a he, and Halcyon has nothing to do with Halcyon+on+on...not a
bad track though...if you get a chance, try to check it out.
I actually dont mind the album in its entirety.
I heard Hybrid's 'Wide Angle' which (for those who dont know) will be issued
as 'Wider Angle' and will have a lot of live stuff apparently.  They
supposedly put on a great show live.  Inform me if anyone's seen them.  I
downloaded Unfinished Symphony (the live version) and it sounds great.
I also heard the first track of BT's 'movement in still life' with the guy
talking about making hits or something and i was totally turned off by it.

Hey Orbital. Been a while since I posted. My apartment got broken into
and both my computers got stolen (along with 4 years of my life...) and
a bunch of other stuff. Plus I moved and Bel Atlantic took their damn
time to install a phone line for me so I couldn't connect anyway. Boston
sucks. (Rob - I just moved to Brookline though - Do you know Dexter Park
on St. Pauls Street? It is sooo awesome!)

Anyway, I'm around again. Oh, and I just wanted to say to Mehul that the
first 4 tracks off BT's Movements in Still Life aren't that good, but
then at the 5th trrack the mood totally changes. Actually, the last two
tracks are my favorite. Satelite and sometihng else. But, don't waste
your money on the 2CD set if you come across it. I don't like the 2nd
CD, especially since it is the same as the first pretty much. Anyway, BT
is awesome, but I think more Moby fans are turned on to him than Orbital
fans (Brendan...) Anyway, later.

Anyone heading to Meltdown or Glastonbury and want to meet up then drop me

Anyway...A major update on the site - when someone asked for MORE videos i
decided that it was time to get a few up there :) Lush, Are We Here ?,
Halcyon and Satan (Live on Jools Holland) all added.

Orbital remixed the Japanese group Confusion in 1994. Not many people knew
that and even Loopz didnt acknowledge it. We have waited all this time to
get our hands on our own personal copy. Thanx to Naoya Kozaki for helping me
get the CD. More info on this rare remix can be found in the Discog section
and there are samples also online.

Loopz was fortunate to receive ".Net website of the week" award. .Net are a
renowned UK internet magazine so this was very good news. We also got an
gold award from Elm Design - really appreciate acknowledgements like this.

An amazing flash intro has been added. Created by Chris Herz - it has to be
seen. It should take no more than 2 mins to load on the slowest modem. The
countdown will start when it is LOADING...if no countdown appears then you
need to get the FLASH plugin for your browser.

On an Orbital note, our local HMV (in the UK) has an offer on CD singles - 5
for ú5 or ú1.99 each, and they had a couple of copies of Beached in. It may
be worth checking your local HMV to see if they have the same offer...

On the point of Hybrid's 'Wider Angle', it has already been released. I have
a copy, and it's been playing whereever I am for the last 3 days.

It's a 2 cd set, incorporating the original Wide Angle release and a 2nd CD
with 6 live tracks, 2 non-live and the 12" of Kid 2000.

So, I've now doubled the number of bands I _want_ to see live - Orbital &
Hybrid.
*wonders if Hybrid could support Orbital? That'd be some night* :).

Oh, I dunno about that.  I have a few Hybrid and BT tracks on MP3 and they're
great.  BT's Blue Skies (with Tori Amos) is excellent, and I plan on buying
Hybrid's Wide Angle (when I have some money).

Just listening to Kraftwerk right now in order to chill; speaking of which,
it's ironic that Brendan has kept so quiet on this list lately, since the
flame wars have been RAGING on the Kraftwerk list.

Anyways....

Oh yeah; someone asked about tables :-)

1) Don't buy belt-drive EVER !!!

2) Don't buy used (unless they're Technics from what I hear)

3) Proper tone arm setup and needle/cartridge pressure is KING !!!!

4) Avoid coffins for travel, unless you're really buff, or you have a moving
dolly nearby (you will break you back transporting your gear back and forth
to gigs and shit). Buy individual flight cases if you can afford them.

5) Don't ever attempt to scratch a 7" . ;-P


Well, must let my legs finish melting.

orbital score for dance - well its about 25 minutes long and not bad
basic beats with two breakdowns one synthy the other sort of new york cop
cars in the distance
not too fluid - but did the job
i thought it would be more along the lines of "out there somewhere?" - wasnt
as scary or arty as stewart walkers

if anyone is interested, err ive got this mate who caught the lot on
minidisc and err will probably run it off into protools tomorrow and have
finished mastering it by the end of the week - probably - top mate
