seems like a good choice, no? well, it says that it is a 30 day trial
version, but is that really true? If I just not register it can I use it

BTW, how was the order on that Woodstock thing?  Did anybody go?  I wanted to
see Chem Bros and FBS, but I wasn't going to go to NY and pay $150 to do it.

Go see Orbital then rush over to see Underworld and Fluke.  Hmmm...UW and Fluke

absolutely!!!!!!!!! (at least for plaid, don't know about the
other one.)
If you don't have "Not for Threes" you are missing out
on an absolutely gorgeous record. IMHO ranks up there with
anything Orbital has done - and I know there are quite a few
people on this list that think highly of it as well. Its similar
to orbital in being ambient techno with beautiful melodies,
wonderfully interesting, sometimes off-the-wall rhtyhms and
the occasional haunting vocal :)

They have a new record, "Rest Proof Clockwork" - haven't
heard this yet (its on order), but I've heard very many good
reviews of it and almost no bad reviews...

Oh yeah all of the above also applies to any stuff by Black Dog,
its mostly the same people anyway - Black dog was 3 guys, they
split up, with 1 keeping the name Black Dog, and the other two
are now known as Plaid.

I've been re-listening to all my Plaid & Black Dog stuff
lately in anticipation of getting the new LP, and re-discovering
how much I love all of it :)

i'm betting that they're referring to the australian
import that is the brown album on one disk and peel
sessions on another.  $26.99 is pretty expensive for
that (i got mine for $18.99 at some shop in
minnesota), considering all you're getting is
semi-detatched and attached mixed and with some new
samples (everything else is on diversions) and some
new art on the disks (disk one is the head of the body
in the liner notes, and disk two is the heart).

Orbital was on the WipeOut XL CD, but not on the actual game.  I guess it's
just a sign of the times that videos games have started putting out their
own soundtracks now.  Anyway, they had a few decent tracks:  Prodigy's
FireStarter (instrumental) and FSOL's We Have Explosive (forget which one).
I lied the game and was rather surprised a sequel (to a racing game no less)
could be so much fun.  But I wasn't about to dish out another fifteen bones
for a track I probably already owned.  If they actually put Orbital on the
GAME this time, then I'll be happy, I think "I Don't Know You People" would
go good with a 300 kph anti-gravity race.

all i know is that the music director for W3 is Sasha, who will have 5 tracks
of his own on the soundtrack, plust there are gonna be tracks by orbital,
underworld, chems, paul van dyk and propellerheads.

the game itslef is gonna suck again.

The WipeOut XL CD is probably the best bigbeat jump point I've seen.  It has
b-sides I spent months finding, including both UW's Tin There and their remix on
Leave Home.  Atom Bomb, We Have Explosive, Firestarter (instrumental is the only
way it should be), PETROL, and a bunch of others.  Too bad I saw this after I
found most of the songs already.  But if you're convincing somebody to get into
techno, I'd say this CD and some Orbital would be a good start.

I have to go with Know Where to Run for the game. It just sounds like a
video game. As for other video game songs on MoN, my friend always says the
Style sounds like one of those songs that are played at the end of a video
game when you've beaten it and they are showing all the credits.

I have the Bentley Rhythm Ace CD beside my computer right now.  you may
or may not know that it is one of the guys who used to be in Pop Will Eat
Itself
(one of my alltime fave bands!!) who is behind Bentley.

Right now im listening to Adamski's Thing so i can't really give an
accurate description
as to what Bentley sounds like.  but what i can say is that they use a lot
of funky samples
and it tends to get jazzy at times.  i can hear a lot of early PWEI
influences in some of the
songs (and that's a good thing!)

tracks to check out would probably be ragtopskodacarchase, why is a frog
too? and return of
the hardcore jumble carbootechnodisco roadshow (that is, if there are any
mp3s floating around)
gotta luv the names of their songs, eh?  hehehe.

understand when I say I have spent the past week and a half slaving to Flash
development. But, issues are at hand, and matters must be finalized.

    Thanks for your help.
    I found some samples on a Bentley's web page. The track 'Why is a frog too'? is one of the ones used in the Psybadek game on track 12 of the CD. Closer inspection of the loading screen showed that there are only 2 tracks from the Bentley's used in the game.
    Alas, this track 12 is one of the weaker tracks on the disk! IMHO :( All the tracks I like must be by David Holmes. Anybody know anything about him? I think he's one of these 'junglist selector' chaps.

Its not at the moment. Its a funny one to catagorise. Basically the Guardian
on Sunday gave this 4 track cd away with their GUIDE magazine. The GUIDE
also had an interview with the boyz about The Saint and included one of the
Saint/Orbital advertisments (which were later banned because of copyright).

Its not that rare though. Im sure there was about 22,000 copies of it as it
was only given away in the London areas.

US doesn't always get the shaft.. just nothing records is dumb.
Matador records does very cool stuff, like releasing=20
"Stay Down" and "Bag of Blue Sparks" by 2LS on one CD -=20
so it ends up costing you about half the money... and they=20
even put a nice 30 sec gap between the 2 on the CD to separate=20
the two releases.

anyway you can order ep7 direct from Warp for not too much (I just=20
checked and its 7 GBP, so thats not too bad.)
or www.yalplay.com has it for 3.90 GBP (hey, BTW I should mention=20
that they apparently aren't charging shipping until Aug.8!

But on most of the Matador releases, theyve taken out tracks and replaced them
with others.  The US version of Stay Down is missing one track off the UK
pressing as well as the last track off of the Bag Of Blue Sparks EP...why that is
I dont know.
Take a look at the Matador pressing of Jega's Spectrum album...
