-
- Yes they are special remixes of the tracks.
-
- Especially Attached and Semi-Detached, respectively found on Diversions and
- Snivilisation, two great tracks.... They are cool on Div. and Sniv., but on
- the earlier Peel session you get to see how they were really meant to be
- mixed together. One thing that surprised me was that Semi-Detached was meant
- to go before Attached in a mix, I always figured it was the opposite. On the
- Peel session also, you get to have sounds from S-D mixed into Attached at
- some points, and they really rock. I think that if they were to make a
- "Attached - Final Mix" that would sound the way the Sniv version sounds,
- only with the added elements found on the Peel version (eg the S-D sounds +
- the vocal samples), it would absolutely rock!!
-
- Anyway I think it's a very interesting disc to get, if it's decently priced
- though. I'm sorry but at 42$can I wouldnt buy any underworld or orbital ep
- (well I did buy the three satan live at 14$ a piece), I'd go for the mp3,
- coz even if I'm stealing a bit from the artist, you just *have* to protest
- against the pathetic middlemen who inflated the price that much and rip
- *them* off for once.
-
- 20+$ is hardly a reasonable price for an album when you know that the
- artists probably only get like 5 or 10% of that price. But I will pay it for
- good artists like Orbital and Underworld anyway. Hell, I would *gladly* pay
- 20$ if I knew that all or most of it went to P&P.
-
- What if you could buy cd's off the net in mp3, pay like 10$, 5$ goes to the
- artist, 5$ goes to the distributing company who could be much smaller than
- today's disc industry giants.... Piracy wouldnt be any worst than it is
- right now, and that web-based company could take care of rooting out the bad
- pirates...
-
- Oh anyway this has turned into a rant, I'll stop it right here :)

- Maybe one of these days I'll write a letter that's on-topic. Maybe...
-
- I've been listening to FUSE's album these past days and it is excellent
- stuff, like everything else in the ai series. Thanks for everyone's
- advice, I'm becoming a Warp-head now. Am I crazy, or are the "what's
- wrong?" samples on "theychx" (track 8) the same ones in "out there
- somewhere?" And in this same vein, can anyone reccomend any other good
- Detroit-style stuff on 8+? Who's good as first listens in late 80s-90s
- Detroit techno?
-
- Aside from FUSE a few more questions... can Fluke fans in the UK say if
- Six Wheels on My Wagon is better than OTO? And how is Underworld's
- second album compared to their first (which I adore)? And what is Sven
- Vath's first album like... I heard it's very good trance-type stuff.
-
- Last but not least, which artists would be best for getting into jungle
- dnb? I've heard some wicked stuff on Princeton radio Sun. nights, but
- I'm clueless about what to get first. Reply privately if you don't want
- to clog up the list with non-Orbital...

- PS: Did anyone hear from Steve how far back the single and album
- releases have been pushed?

- Heard last night on university student radio.... A song that sounded very
- Kraftwerk-ish, but definitely done in the 90's. There was some sort of
- computer voice (not synthesized, more like a human voice with effects) often
- repeating "We are the robots" or something like that...... I know this is
- very minimal for a description but I'd love to know what this was! Thanks.
