  7. This is a collection of Linux game demos released for your personal use
  8. by Loki Software, Inc. Your use of each demo is subject to all of the
  9. terms and conditions of the developer's applicable end user license.
  10. These demos may not be modified, nor may they be distributed for a fee
  11. or other consideration.

  13. This update to version 1.0e has the following improvements over 1.0d:
  14.  * The website button now takes you to the web store.
  15.  * Clicking on the box now takes you to the product page.
  16.  * Added a custom menu path specification file, "menu.txt"
  17.  * Updated the year graphic to the year 2001
  18.  * Added a graphic to be displayed when there are no demos available.

  25. 3D Notes
  26. --------

  28. Some of the demos are marked as "3D accelerated" or "3D required".
  29. "3D accelerated" products offer hardware 3D acceleration but can be
  30. played on any system, while "3D required" products require 3D hardware
  31. acceleration.

  33. Only certain 3D cards currently have drivers under Linux.  For an
  34. overview of which cards and which drivers to use, please refer to

  38. Running the Launcher
  39. -------------------

  41. Run the launcher from your desktop menu or from the command line:

  46. Updating the Demos
  47. ------------------

  49. Just run the 'loki_update' utility as the user that installed the
  50. Loki Demo Launcher, and you'll get a list of available demos and
  51. game previews.  If you run the demo launcher as the user that 
  52. installed the launcher, you'll get an "Update Demos" button that
  53. will run the Loki Update Tool and then restart the demo launcher.

  58. These demos do not have technical support, but the full versions 
  59. are supported via web, e-mail, and telephone.
