  2. Welcome to the DEMO version of Civilization: Call To Power 1.1

  4. This version is a sample of the full game available from Loki Entertainment
  5. Software.  It contains approximately one fifth of the total timeline, units
  6. and advances, and gives you a good taste of Civilization: Call To Power.

  9. (1) SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  10. -----------------------
  11.   Linux capable computer, Pentium class, PowerPC, Alpha, or Sparc processor
  12.   Linux kernel version 2.0.x or 2.2.x
  13.   64 MB RAM + 80 MB swap
  14.   XFree86 version 3.2 or newer at 16 bpp.
  15.   /dev/dsp sound device for audio
  16.     (the Enlightenment Sound Daemon is supported as well).
  17.   210 MB free hard disk space

  21. (2) PLAYING THE GAME

  24.     Run ./civctp_demo in the main demo directory to start the game.
  25.  
  26.     The first time you run the demo, it will create a ~/.loki/civctp_demo
  27.     directory in your home directory.  Saved games and preferences will be
  28.     stored there.

  30.     The following arguments may be given to Civilization: Call To Power Demo:

  32.      [-h | --help]           Display this help message
  33.      [-v | --version]        Display the game version
  34.      [-f | --fullscreen]     Run the game fullscreen
  35.      [-w | --windowed]       Run the game in a window
  36.      [-s | --nosound]        Do not access the soundcard
  37.      [-c | --nocdrom]        Do not access the CD-ROM
  38.      [-u | --update]         Run the Loki auto-update tool
  39.      [-q | --qagent]         Run the Loki QAgent support tool
  40.      [-x | --x11cursor]      Use the X11 hardware mouse cursor

  44. (3) LINUX FEATURES

  47.     Use Alt-Enter to toggle fullscreen mode.
  48.  
  49.     Use Ctrl-G to toggle mouse grabbing.
  50.  
  51.     Use Ctrl-Z or PAUSE to iconify the game when it is run in a window.

  53.     The Print Screen key will save the current screen to the
  54.     ~/.loki/civctp_demo directory.
  55.  
  56.     If the Print Screen, Pause, or Alt-# keys are not working,
  57.     make sure your window manager is not overriding them.
  58.  
  59.     Text entry widgets have standard UNIX keybindings.

  61.         Ctrl-A - Move to beginning of line
  62.         Ctrl-E - Move to end of line
  63.         Ctrl-B - Move backwards
  64.         Ctrl-F - Move forwards
  65.         Ctrl-U - Erase line
