  10. INSTALLING THIS PATCH
  11. =====================

  13. Just run the script by typing the following from the command line :
  14.  
  15.      sh heretic2-1.06c-x86.run
  16.  
  17. It will prompt you for the installation path of the game. If different
  18. from the default (/usr/local/games/heretic2), type the name of the
  19. directory where you installed the game.

  22. RUNNING THE GAME
  23. ================

  25. To start the game, run the "heretic2" binary in the installation directory.
  26.  
  27. A few tips:
  28.  
  29. If you want to run in software mode, start the game with the options:
  30.     +set vid_ref soft
  31.  
  32. If you want to run in hardware mode, start the game with the options:
  33.     +set vid_ref glx
  34.  
  35. You can specify a GL driver to be loaded by adding the following options:
  36.     +set gl_driver /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
  37. where "/usr/lib/libGL.so.1" is the full path of the GL driver you want.

  39. Note: Mesa 3.0 does not work correctly with Heretic II and Voodoo cards.
