  21.   Pentium 200 or faster with 3D accelerator card
  22.   32 mb RAM required (64 MB recommended)

  43. (2) INSTALLATION

  46. The installer assumes that Descent3 is installed and configured properly!
  47. Please be sure that Descent3 is operable on your system BEFORE installing
  48. Mercenary!
  49.  
  50. Mount the Descent 3: Mercenary CD and then change directory to where you
  51. unpacked the Mercenary for Linux installer. Type 'sh setup.sh' to run the
  52. install script.

  54. e.g.  Log in as root:
  55.   $ mount /mnt/cdrom
  56.   $ cd /home/icculus/merc_install
  57.   $ sh setup.sh

  61. (3) PLAYING THE GAME
  62. --------------------

  64. Game play with Mercenary is identical to playing regular Descent 3.
  65. However, you now have access to new missions and maps. When you select
  66. "New Game" on the main menu, you will see several more options.
  67. "Descent 3: Mercenary" is the official expansion. "Descent 3:
  68. Retribution" is the original game. Other entries, such as "StoneCutter"
  69. and "Tri-Pod", are levels included with the Mercenary expansion that
  70. were created by D3 fans on the Internet.

  72. Many games on Parallax Online (PXO) use maps from the Mercenary
  73. expansion; you may participate in these games now that Mercenary
  74. is installed.

  76. Mercenary has two new movies to watch.

  78. Finally, Mercenary has a new vehicle, the "Black Pyro", that you will
  79. fly and fight in various scenarios.
