  1. QnS Tutorial ReadMe File

  4. This directory contains compressed Postscript and pdf versions of
  5. tutorials for QnS.  These are very much a work in progress.  In
  6. order to facilitate downloading and printing the individual tutorials
  7. are organized into separate files.  (But heh, only one of the
  8. tutorials is done :-(

  10. Downloading and Viewing Notes
  11. -----------------------------
  12.    The Postscript files are large (3 MBytes) when uncompressed.
  13.    The files are large because they contain some screen
  14.    shots that have 8-bit color content.  I could not lower the
  15.    screen depth without making the printed images unreadable.

  17.    The pdf files, on the other hand, are *much* smaller and can
  18.    be viewed on screen with the free PDF viewer from Adobe
  19.    (http://www.adobe.com/) The on-screen pdf images are legible,
  20.    but not ideal.

  22.    My recomendation is to try the pdf files first.  They print
  23.    just fine on an old Laserwriter/NT.
