  35.   The jabberwock is a very strange creature indeed, with 
  36. a body like a dragon and wings to match, but hands like
  37. those of a human, though with oversized fingers.  Its
  38. snaggletoothed head has several horns jutting out, here
  39. and there.  Despite the wings, the creature is incapable
  40. of flight, and simply lopes along awkwardly, though not
  41. inefficiently.  It attacks with a claw/claw/bite/tail
  42. routine which has various detrimental effects.  The two
  43. claws inflict disease upon hitting, unless a save against
  44. poison at -3 is made.  The monster's bite causes both
  45. blindness and deafness (two different saves, both against
  46. paralysis, both at -3) while its tail induces paralysis
  47. if a victim fails a save at -3.  Furthermore, the thing
  48. can breathe a cone of either fire or frost (maximum of 3
  49. times each, per day) for 14d8 damage, save for half.
  50.   Besides all of this, the jabberwock is totally immune
  51. to effects similar to its own special attacks, namely
  52. heat, cold, disease, blindness, deafness, and paralysis.
  53. It also has an extremely high resistance to magic of all
  54. kinds, including rods/staves/wands.
  55.   The monster's true ecology and habitat are unknown.
  56. Like the jub-jub bird (qv) the thing has wings that are
  57. of no use; it may be that the two creatures have common
  58. ancestors.
