  35.   The bandersnatch was the first of many strange creatures that
  36. the Adventurers encountered in the Underdark.  Towering a full
  37. eight feet in height, the monster was basically a big mouth with
  38. arms and legs.  The thing's maw was large enough to swallow a
  39. dwarf or halfling, and was filled with long, sharp fangs.  Its
  40. body was covered in thick brown fur, and it drooled green slime
  41. and babbled incoherently the whole time the party fought it.
  42.   The bandersnatch had long, powerful arms, tipped with razor-
  43. sharp talons.  It attacked by swiping at foes with these, and on
  44. any successful hit with a roll of 18-20, the victim was dragged
  45. to the bandersnatch's mouth, where additional mauling was then
  46. suffered.  The green slime which the monster drooled was highly
  47. toxic (-4 on saves) and, as might be expected, the thing was
  48. totally immune to poisons of any kind.
  49.   Worse still, the creature's incessant babbling was sufficiently
  50. strange that foes suffered a -3 penalty to hit and damage while
  51. fighting it.
  52.   For the most part, the ecology of the bandersnatch remains a
  53. mystery.  Its natural environment and social habits are largely
  54. unknown; it appears to wander forlorn places like the Underdark
  55. according to its own pursuits.
