  9.           pnmindex - build a visual index of a bunch of anymaps

  12.           pnmindex [-size N] [-across N] [-colors N] [-black] pnmfile

  15.      DESCRIPTION
  16.           This script makes small versions of a bunch of anymaps, adds
  17.           labels, and concatenates them together into a collage.
  18.  
  19.      OPTIONS
  20.           -size
  21.                Controls how big each image becomes; the default is
  22.                100x100.
  23.  
  24.           -across
  25.                Controls how many images are in each row; the default
  26.                is 6.
  27.  
  28.           -colors
  29.                Controls how many colors the final index gets quantized
  30.                to, if quantization is necessary; the default is 256.
  31.  
  32.           -black
  33.                Controls the color of the padding between the images;
  34.                normally it's white and the labels are black lettering
  35.                on white background, but the -black flag reverses this.

  41.           It's very slow.

  43.           It's a csh script.  Csh scripts are not portable to System
  44.           V.  Scripts in general are not portable to non-Unix
