<p>SnapMail Returns to Original Authors</p>
<p>Glass Bead Software today announced the re-acquisition of their SnapMail<br />
e-mail package from Casady and Greene, Inc., and the immediate release of<br />
SnapMail 2.5, which increases stability and introduces drag-and-drop text<br />
and the ability to send and receive styled and colored text. Glass Bead<br />
will provide technical support via their web site at<br />
<a href="http://www.glassbead.com/snapmail/" title="http://www.glassbead.com/snapmail/">http://www.glassbead.com/snapmail/</a>, and will continue to release compelling<br />
upgrades to SnapMail that support core Mac OS technologies. The software<br />
will now be sold as shareware. Until September 1, SnapMail is available for<br />
the introductory price of $15 per user ($10 per user for educational<br />
institutions and charitable non-profits). A 100-user, 21-day demo is<br />
available on the SnapMail web site.</p>
<p>About SnapMail: SnapMail is a popular peer-to-peer distributed e-mail and<br />
chat application for the Macintosh and Power Macintosh. It was created in<br />
1991 by Glass Bead Software's Eric Harris-Braun and Adam King. The software<br />
is unique among e-mail and chat packages for the Macintosh in that it<br />
requires neither a dedicated e-mail server nor a network administrator. Any<br />
number of Macintoshes on an AppleTalk network (including PhoneNet,<br />
LocalTalk, Token Ring, Ethernet, etc.) can use SnapMail. System<br />
Requirements: any Macintosh or Power Macintosh computer running Mac OS<br />
7.0.1 or higher (including Mac OS 8.1), only 470 kilobytes of disk space<br />
(miminum installation), and less than 600 kilobytes of available RAM.</p>
<p>SnapMail leverages the ease-of-use inherent in AppleTalk to provide<br />
seamless and easy collaboration for small and large workgroups without the<br />
need to run difficult-to-configure server software on expensive hardware.</p>
<p>One-Line Description: Hassle-free distributed e-mail and chat for the<br />
Macintosh. Immediately usable -- no server needed!</p>
