<p>WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- June 16, 1998 -- Xplain Corporation, publishers<br />
of NetProfessional(tm) magazine, announces the launch of NetProLive(tm).<br />
NetProLive is a website and an email list aimed squarely at the Internet<br />
community. Hosted by NetProfessional magazine, NetProLive is the source of<br />
news, information, updates and special offers specifically for the web<br />
developer and network administrator.</p>
<p>NetProLive -- The Mailing List</p>
<p>The charter of the NetProLive list is to make Net managers, webmasters, and<br />
site producers more aware of available resources, and to provide an<br />
efficient channel through which Internet vendors can spread the word about<br />
new product releases. To further this charter, the list is open to press,<br />
developers, industry figures, and the general public. The magazine's<br />
Editorial Staff uses the list as its primary source of leads and<br />
information -- sharing what they find interesting, timely, and relevant for<br />
their audience.</p>
<p>The list will be moderated by NetProfessional magazine staff and is a<br />
natural extension of NetProfessional's website,<br />
(<a href="http://www.netprolive.com" title="http://www.netprolive.com">http://www.netprolive.com</a>). The goal of the moderators is to manage the<br />
list traffic, so that subscribers aren't overwhelmed. In addition, a digest<br />
version of the list is available.</p>
<p>"NetProLive is to NetProfessional what MacDev-1 is to MacTech Magazine."<br />
said Neil Ticktin, Publisher of MacTech and NetProfessional. "For years,<br />
we've been providing quality news to the Mac developer community -- now<br />
it's time to do the same for the web developer and network administrator."</p>
<p>NetProLive is a news feed for several other news organizations -- including<br />
a number of other industry web sites, EvangeList, Apple Developer<br />
Connection News, PR Web, and CNN Custom News service. Unlike other news<br />
services, readers get to see the announcement in the vendor's own words,<br />
without interpretation.</p>
