Internet access utilities including FreePPP and GearBox, has begun shipping<br />
the Internet Setup Monkey 3.0 for Macintosh. The Internet Setup Monkey<br />
Admin Kit ("ISMAK") allows Internet Service Providers and enterprise<br />
network administrators to build custom Internet access kits for<br />
users--providing software installation, system and application<br />
configuration, and new user registration sign-up capabilities in a<br />
distributable access kit. A demo version is available at<br />
<a href="http://www.rockstar.com" title="http://www.rockstar.com">http://www.rockstar.com</a> along with license pricing.</p>
<p>The most notable addition to version 3.0 is the option for Internet Service<br />
Providers to build a registration client to include within the access kit.<br />
The online-based registration process provides the opportunity for<br />
commercial providers to bulk supply access kits to gain potential users,<br />
without the hands-on sign-up support typically required by customer<br />
service.</p>
<p>Other significant changes include a new interface for the Admin Kit, which<br />
has been re-designed from the ground up for greater ease-of-use. Previous<br />
plug-in configuration options ("ISM Extras") have since been incorporated<br />
into the Admin Kit. And support for multiple data files allows<br />
administrators to design access kits for any variety of connection types<br />
they wish to maintain to support clients.</p>
<p>"With ISM 3.0, commercial and corporate Internet Service Providers have a<br />
total solution to effortlessly sign up new customers to the service,"<br />
comments Brian Chen, Rockstar Studios. "The administrator can remotely<br />
install Internet applications, configure the software and the system, and<br />
allow the user to sign on to the service automatically. Add to this the<br />
ability to personalize the Access Kit to reflect the service's branding and<br />
you have a complete package for seamlessly adding users to a unique<br />
service, without the usual costs due to time-intensive technical assistance<br />
and customer service."</p>
<p>Fueling interest for the ISMAK, a survey commissioned by Rockstar Studios<br />
of service provider customers found technical support savings averaging 62%<br />
when using the ISM Admin Kit. The most significant expense for accounts is<br />
primarily from initial setup and configuration of the remote<br />
computer--usually from costly phone support required to get the user's<br />
