<p>DiskLock Version 4.5 Now Protects Latest Mac OS</p>
<p>Minneapolis - August 16, 1999 -- Power On Software announced today the<br />
immediate availability of a new release of "DiskLock" the world's number<br />
one Macintosh security utility. Recently acquired from Symantec<br />
Corporation, and formerly known as Norton DiskLock, the product has set the<br />
standard for Macintosh data security for the past ten years and offers<br />
users virtually unbeatable security with its one click file locking and<br />
encryption.</p>
<p>DiskLock 4.5 provides support for the latest versions of the Mac OS,<br />
including 8.6. This update, the first under the Power On brand, also<br />
supports the iMac and the new G3 Blue and White Macintosh line. There is<br />
also support for multiple users on the same Macintosh with different<br />
security levels for each. In addition, SCSI and IDE drives, both fixed and<br />
removable, are supported in the new version of DiskLock.</p>
<p>Ideal for protecting a user's privacy and data security, DiskLock protects<br />
valuable and sensitive files and folders through sophisticated encryption<br />
methods. What sets DiskLock apart from other products is its simple,<br />
intuitive interface that allows a user to completely encrypt data by simply<br />
pointing and clicking.</p>
<p>DiskLock's protection is not only industrial strength, but it is a breeze<br />
to use as well. Set-up is much faster than with other security programs.<br />
Instead of having to select each file, users can choose entire folders with<br />
a single click or, if preferred, encryption and decryption can be<br />
accomplished through DiskLock's drag and drop support. DiskLock is<br />
virtually impossible to bypass -- it loads before the system software, so<br />
unauthorized users can't start up a system, even from a floppy disk or<br />
System CD.. DiskLock also supports multiple users, each with his or her own<br />
password and levels of access.</p>
<p>Not only does DiskLock protect files from prying eyes, but it also guards<br />
against fumbling fingers to insure against accidental deletion of protected<br />
files.</p>
<p>Other features include:</p>
<p> Hot key screen-locking allows users to instantly blank the screen from<br />
within any application</p>
<p> Idle-time screen blanker automatically blanks the screen and locks the<br />
system after a specified amount of time for privacy protection when a user<br />
step away from the computer, while other tasks, such as printing or fax<br />
processing, continue uninterrupted in the background. Includes a built-in<br />
screen saver and supports third-party screen savers</p>
<p> Audit management that logs invalid access attempts and locking and<br />
unlocking of files and folders</p>
<p>Power On has extensive experience in security software. Power On's access<br />
configuration product, "On Guard" for Macintosh, has over 1 million users<br />
and has recently been licensed by Kinko's to protect all its machines in<br />
North America. "By adding DiskLock to our offerings, we now provide the<br />
most extensive set of security options on the Macintosh," said John<br />
Wallace, president of Power On Software. "We recognize the growing<br />
importance of data security to our customers and are delighted to be able<br />
to add the extra levels of security that DiskLock provides."</p>
<p>The suggested retail price of DiskLock is $129.95. Upgrades to the new<br />
version, DiskLock 4.5 will cost $49.95 and site license pricing is<br />
available. DiskLock is sold through dealers, mail order catalogs, and<br />
electronically and is available now.</p>
